Nolan Earl Moyers, Sr.
Nolan Earl Moyers, Sr., 86, of Frametown, WV went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
He was born on March 30, 1937, in Scott, WV, a son of the late Lester E.
and Alda M. (Vanhorn) Moyers.
In addition to his parents, Nolan was preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife of 57 years, Elma Willadene. (White) Moyers.
He is survived by his second loving and faithful wife of 11 years, Sandra Kay Moyers, and five children, Sheila Moore (Kelby) of Jonesborough, TN, Nolan Moyers Jr. (Chris) of Birch River, WV, Donald Moyers of Frametown, WV, Bernard Moyers (Mary) of Frametown, WV, Brenda Davis (Mark) of Buckhannon, WV and two step-children, J. R. Yost and Candice Thornhill. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Nolan was the oldest in a family of two in Frametown, WV. His sister Phyllis M. Reaser, continues living in Frametown, WV.
Nolan served in the Army from 1955 to 1959 as an MP in France. He worked a successful career as a farmer, and a factory worker in the auto industry, and most of his working years he spent as a sawyer for himself and later for other sawmills. He enjoyed collecting Allis-Chalmers tractors and grafting and growing fruit trees. Nolan was a deacon in his church for many years and most recently attended Beech Grove Baptist Church.
Elders Mike Richardson and Richard Westfall officiated a celebration of life service at Stump
Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV at 2 pm on Friday, December 29, 2023. Visitation began one hour before the service.
A memorial service with military honors was held at the Moyers Family Cemetery at a later date.
The Moyers family is grateful to the staff at Braxton Memorial Hospital in Gassaway, WV, and
at Valley Center Nursing Home in South Charleston, WV for the kind and compassionate care
given to Nolan. We have been blessed by the prayers of family and friends everywhere.

James H. “Chuck” Nicholson
James H. “Chuck” Nicholson, 75, of Gassaway passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.
He was born in Copen on August 26, 1948, to the late Noah Webb Nicholson and Esther Leon Conrad Nicholson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Boyd Nicholson.
Chuck was an automobile mechanic his whole life. He cattle farmed and had chickens at his house. He also had two pups he enjoyed caring for, Lucky and Newpie.
He is survived by his brothers, Dallas Nicholson of Exchange, George Nicholson of Gassaway, Joe Nicholson of Gassaway, Danny Nicholson of Gassaway; sisters, Linda Hurst of Gassaway, Ellen Robinson of Gassaway, Alice Hamrick of Gassaway, Donna “Bob” Nicholson of Gassaway, Zelda Nicholson of Garrettsville, Ohio, Pearl Phillips of Exchange, Sheila Conrad of Ravenna, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Chuck’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services.

Karen Ramona Freeman
Karen Ramona Freeman, 77 years of age of Summersville, passed away Thursday December 21, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Agnes Oleta White Hughes and was born at Sutton, WV on January 08, 1946. Karen was a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by her Husband Ray Freeman in March of 2020 and daughter, Karen Conley.
Surviving: Son: Larry Freeman (Julie) Stanfield, NC. Daughters: Teresa Ward (Buck) Morgantown, WV. Michelle Freeman (Marvin Hurd) Mt. Lookout, WV. Brother: Gary Hughes Sister: Sandra Burchette. 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the Mount Vernon cemetery at Glade Creek with Pastor Levi Bragg officiating. Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville is in charge of arrangements.

Karen Lynn Frame
Karen Lynn Frame, 59, of Birch River, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Braxton Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 21, 1964 in Summersville, WV, the daughter of the late Kenneth Lou & Iris June Harrouff Frame. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Randell Frame; two infants, Joyce Frame and Kenneth Frame.
Karen was a member of Birch River Baptist Church. She was known as a bossy princess. She attended Nicholas County Special Olympics and Bright Horizons Sheltered Workshop where she loved her friends. She liked camping and going on vacations.
She is survived by her mommy & daddy, Kenny & Barbara Tinney of Birch River; sisters, Sandy Skipper (Yogi) of Birch River, Lisa Patton (Bob) of Rupert, Delia Tinney (Matt) of Summersville, Jennifer Tinney of Birch River; aunt, Joy Harrouff of Birch River; cousin, Cindy Harrouff (Charles) of Birch River; niece, Angie Frame; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Birch River Baptist Church, Birch River, with Pastor Chris Tatman officiating. Burial followed at Birch River Cemetery, Birch River. Friends called at 11:30 till service time at the church.

Linda Jane Knapp
Linda Jane Knapp, 81, of Frametown passed away at home on Friday, December 29, 2023.
She was born on August 12, 1942, in Summersville, West Virginia to the late Willie D. Saul and Margaret Beirne Bell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Knapp; and brothers, Larry Baldwin and Thomas L. Saul.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and she enjoyed life. Painting and crafting were her favorite pastimes while she was at home. She liked to go play BINGO. She had a helping heart and would give to anyone in need. Linda had a love for animals. Her well-kept dog, Jasper, will miss her too.
Left to cherish her memories are her sister, Jane Ann Saul and fiancée, Bacil Drennen, of Normantown; and brother, William David “Bill” Saul and his wife, Katrina, of St. Albans; niece, Heather Saul; nephew, Joshua Saul; and many friends and acquaintances .
In keeping with Linda’s wishes she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV with Reverend Rich Demastus officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Braxton County Animal Shelter, 10 Animal Shelter Lane, Sutton, WV 26601.

Shelly Marie Bosley
Shelly Marie Bosley, 46, of Burnsville, WV, left us unexpectedly along with her fiancé Judson Alford, on November 29, 2023. She was born on August 1, 1977 to parents Gary Don Bosley and Elsie Cogar Bosley.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Don Bosley.
Shelly was a lifelong resident of Braxton County and a Christian by faith. She loved doing crafts, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Elsie Cogar Bosley; sister, Crystal Monk and husband, Mike; sister, Sharon Bosley; cousin, Amanda Zackoski and husband Edmond; uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Judson “Jody” Lawrence Alford
Judson “Jody” Lawrence Alford, 47, of Burnsville, WV tragically departed us and gained his angel wings on November 29, 2023 along with his fiancé Shelly Bosley.
He was born in Destin, FL on October 4, 1976 to his father, Johnny Travis Alford and mother, Sandra Mar-Shan Adams.
Jody was a kind and caring man with a hint of mischief but he loved the Lord. He didn’t ask for much even though he suffered severe health problems. Jody had a love for all animals and they loved him too. He took in wild animals and they became his pets.
Jody is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his daughter, Eva Alford.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary Jane Moss
Mary Jane Moss, 85, from Cedarville, WV passed away on December 16, 2023. She was born on February 6, 1938 to parents Jake and Josie (Hoover) Butler.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Gilmer County. She was a Baptist by faith and attended Riverside Baptist Church in Richwood, WV. Mary loved to visit with family and friends and she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grand-children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63-years, Armold Moss; brothers, Bill and Mike Butler; and sister, Ann Butler Moss.
Mary is survived by her sons, David Moss (Malora) and Daniel Moss; daughter, Debbie Butler (Randy); 8-grandchildren and 11-great grandchildren.
Service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Cedarville, WV. Visitation was two hours before the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Pastor Brant Seacrest officiate the service. Final resting place will be at the Cedarville Cemetery, Cedarville, WV.
