Jackie Lee Johnson
Jackie Lee Johnson, 84, of Gassaway passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
She was born in the Gassaway Hospital on January 9, 1940, to the late Lantie and Gladys Jones Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, John “Jim” Johnson; her brother, Jim Davis and her sister, Lavoo Westfall.
Jackie was a banker and retired from the Bank of Gassaway with 30+ years of service. Family was her joy, and she was constantly on the go with them even in her retirement years. Living an active lifestyle, she enjoyed beach vacations and traveling. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Terry Dobbins and Lisa Rader both of Burnsville; and her son, Jeff Johnson and wife, Tish, of Gassaway; sisters, Rene Friend and husband, Bill, of Gassaway and Donna Kay Nottingham of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason Marple (Meghan Marple), Christopher Marple (Mary Marple), Maddie Conley (Barry Conley), Clayton Johnson (Bre Johnson), Rebecca Kessler (Ben Dean) and Cassidy Hendricks (Brandon Jarvis). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Benson, Levici, Andersen, Maris Jade, Coleman, Cooper, Grady, and Avalee.
A private graveside service was held at Strange Creek Cemetery with Pastor Joe Bob Truman officiating.

Leonard D Frame
Leonard D Frame, 71 of Sutton, WV entered peacefully into his eternal rest on April 23, 2024.
December 20, 1952, to the late Lloyd, sr. and Ida Bender Frame. Also preceding him in death are brothers, Wordie and Bob Frame, 3 nephews and 3 nieces, in addition to his best friend, Steve Kniceley.
He is survived by brothers, Gene of Orange Springs, FL; Lloyd Jr (Bessie) of Rupert, WV; Charlie of Upper Tract, WV; Bernard and William (Mary) of Sutton, WV and Jim of Exchange, WV. Sisters, Norma Jean Thomas of Flatwoods, WV; Betty Bankhead of Pompano Beach, FL. and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, he leaves behind the family of Steve Kniceley (daughter, Melissa Marshall, grandson, Randy Lee and son, Randy) who cherished Leonard dearly and honored Steve’s wishes of caring for Leonard after his passing.
Leonard was a kind and unique individual. He preferred a simple life to which he simply could not be wavered from. He will be greatly missed. In honoring Leonard’s wishes he will be cremated, and a family service will beheld at a later date. His final resting place will be beside his mother.

Donnie Francis Cox
Donnie Urbas Meadows Cox, of Richwood, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Buckhannon.
Born on February 25, 1930, in Log Camp 73 to Joe and Francis Urbas. Donnie grew up in Jerryville and on a farm in Camden on Gauley. Donnie was an alumnus of Cowen High School and spent her summers working at Camp Cesear in Webster County. For over 71 years, Donnie made Richwood her home, where she worked at Prelaz’s Restaurant for 30 years and the Richwood Nursing Home for 8 years.
Donnie was a unique, beautiful individual who deeply loved her family and friends. She always made sure all who interacted with her felt welcomed and cared for. If you stopped by her house in Richwood, Donnie always ensured family and visitors had something to eat- especially sweets or pepperoni rolls- and was always happy to chat or play various card games.
Donnie loved to be at her campsite on the Gauley River- watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren interact around the campfire or play in the river. She was an avid news watcher- along with her 50+ year neighbor Maxine Bowyer- and loved reading. Donnie was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Richwood and had the pleasure of being a member of Father Ed’s parish at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon.
Donnie Cox is survived by thirteen children, John (Lori) Meadows, Diane Lyon, Karen (Brian) Towe, Ray Cox Jr, Robert Cox, Sharon Cornell, James (Jill) Cox, Sheryl Cox, Kevin (Lisa) Cox, Kim Hoffman, Jerry (Kris) Cox, Roger (Karen) Cox, Michelle (Dan) Bulger; brother, John Urbas; brother-in-law, Richard Ward; 28 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Edgar Meadows; son, Eddie Meadows; husband, Ray Cox; parents, Joe and Frances Urbas; sister, Julia Ward; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Urbas; and grandson, Austin Cox.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed via check to Richwood Public Library, 8 White Avenue, Richwood, WV, 26261.

Lois Jane Wamsley
Lois Jane Gowers Wamsley, 74, of Buckhannon, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born in Clarksburg on June 14, 1949, a daughter of the late Ira Gowers and Nona Starcher Gowers. On October 25, 1969, Lois married David Louis Wamsley, Sr. and they shared nearly 42 years of marriage until his passing on August 4, 2011. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Orlan Gowers, Johny Gowers, Jimmy Gowers, and Bobby Gowers; and three sisters: Juanita Swisher, JoAnn Flint, and Sharon Marteney.
Forever cherishing their memories of Lois’s giving nature are three children: David Louis Wamsley, Jr., Kevin Wayne Wamsley, and Jason Paul Wamsley; four grandchildren: Corey Michael Wamsley and wife, Brittany, James Ray Wamsley, Brandon Wyatt Wamsley and Kevin David Wamsley; two great grandchildren: Aaliyah Faith Wamsley and Houston Michael Wamsley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Lois had a big heart and included the neighborhood children in her family.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Macedonia United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Macedonia United Methodist Church cemetery.

Shirley K. Bradley
Shirley K. Bradley, 78, of Cowen, WV went to be with her Lord Jesus on 20th April, 2024, following a short illness. Her loss is completely unexpected and her family is profoundly saddened.
Shirley was born October 13th, 1945 in Jodie, West Virginia to Walter and Marie Hardway. She was one of 11 children; Mable, Carol, Judy, Harlan, Patricia, Sharon, Gordon, Wanda, Bobbi, and Danny – known as the “Better Than a Dozen Gang”.
Shirley loved her family and never missed an opportunity to participate in their joys. Shirley is survived by sisters Wanda Blackburn and Bobbi (Leon) Catrow; brother Dan (Lisa) Hardway; children Janine Komorowski, Greg (Wandalene) Komorowski; grandchildren Danielle (Paul) Vann, Amanda Komorowski, Aaron (Chrissy) Komorowski, Jacob Komorowski, Sam Komorowski; great grandchildren Jackie, River, Bradley, Esta, David, Gregor,as well as Seth Bradley and many other wonderful nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a loving and devoted wife to Jack Bradley and they enjoyed 40 years together.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Walt and Marie Hardway; husbands Jack Bradley and John Komorowski; sisters Mable (James) Thomas, Judy (Edward) Ghee, Carol (John) Kessler, Patricia (Bill) Richard, Sharon (Don) Messer; brothers Harlan Hardway, Gordon (Betty) Hardway; and grandson Jack Boaz Komorowski.
Shirley was a member of Emmanuel Assembly of God in Upper Glade, WV, where she had many dear friends. She taught Sunday School, directed Christmas plays and made the world’s finest hotrolls. Shirley exemplified a life of service to others and touched the lives of friends, family, and total strangers in so many tangible ways.
Our unbelievable mother will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Assembly of God in Upper Glade, WV at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 28th, 2024. Viewing is open to the public from 11AM -1:00PM followed by services by Rev. Marty Cogar.

Richard “Richie” Allen Bonnett
Richard “Richie” Allen Bonnett, 56 of Weston, WV; departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at his residence in Weston, following a sudden illness.
He was born June 26, 1967 in Weston, son of Ronald “Ronnie” and Billie Bonnett of Elkins, WV; and Ruth Ann Butcher of Glenville.
Richie is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1985. He worked for various trucking companies in West Virginia during his working life and in his spare time enjoyed spending time with family and friends and living the quiet life in West Virginia.
Along with his parents, Richie is survives by 3 siblings, Amy Chewning and Michael Bonnett of Elkins, and Katrina Howes of Glenville.
Also left to cherish his memory are his aunts Connie Minney, Betty Luzier, and Karen Lay, uncles, Danny Bonnett and Gary Dean Bush and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Preceding Richie in death were his paternal grandparents, Howard and Madeline Bonnett, and maternal grandparents, Asa and Irene Bush, aunt, Patty Burkhamer, and uncles, Jack, Bob, and Terry Bonnett
Richie’s request for cremation has been honored and his ashes will be laid to rest with his family in the Troy IOOF Cemetery in Troy, WV; at 2:00 PM; Sunday, May 5, 2024.
