Deanna Kay Gillespie Facemire
Deanna Kay Gillespie Facemire, 79 of Ruth, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, 07 November 2023 at the Hospice House CAMC Memorial, Charleston, WV, after a short illness. She was born 25 February 1944 in Barton (now) Curtin, WV.
She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, Alum Creek, WV. She was homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her church and all the wonderful people there.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Eurlace Gillespie, Son Dannie E. Facemire and one grandson Corey D. Facemire. Three sisters, Mary L. Ledsome and Barbara J. Gillespie, Joyce A. Riffle, six brothers, Donald D. Gillespie, Jr. James Robert (Bob) Houchins, Jackie C. Houchins and Marion D. Gillespie, Sherman D. Gillespie, and Larry C. Gillespie.
Survivors, include her husband of 63 years Don E. Facemire, one son Don E. Facemire Jr. and his significant other Annie Davis. One Daughter Diana K. Gallik, and husband Larry Gallik of Ruth, WV. One step-daughter Carmela S. Dodrill and her Husband James D. Dodrill, She has six surviving grand children, and 6 great grand children. Three sisters, Lea Smith, Terry L. Carpenter and Drema S. Gillespie
A viewing was from 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 09, 2023, at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Alum Creek, WV. A two-hour viewing preceded the Funeral from 11 am to 1 pm with the funeral starting at 1 pm at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home in Richwood, WV on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Pastor Chris Vannater officiated; Burial followed the service in Richwood Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Simons-Coleman funeral home in Richwood, WV 26261.

Harry Charles Brady
Harry Charles Brady, 63, of Sutton, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV.
He was born July 28, 1960, the son of the late, Harry Delbert & Madeline Wilson Brady. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Brady, John Brady; sister, Patty Brady.
He was a Construction worker.
He is survived by his companion, Melissa Sartin.
Upon request the body will be cremated.

Thomas Buster “Tom” Clevenger
Thomas Buster “Tom” Clevenger, 44 of Slaty Fork, formerly of Webster Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was born December 30, 1978 in Webster Springs to the late Buster T. Clevenger and Debora K. Postalwait Clevenger of Webster Springs.
Tom was a Broker, Owner and Realtor at Adventure Realty. He enjoyed art, painting, clay, and interior decorating. He previously worked in the restaurants at Snowshoe Mountain. He attended Chapel on the Mount Episcopal Church in Snowshoe.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Debora K. Postalwait Clevenger; sister Loretta K. (Shawn) Cutlip; brother Tony Clevenger; nephew Brandon Cutlip; niece Amanda Cutlip; his loving furry companion Christian and many cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, friends, coworkers, and clientele to mourn his passing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Onie Earl and Maggie Gathel Groves Clevenger and paternal grandparents Russell “Bill” and Barbara Hines Postalwait.
Friends joined the family for visitation on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Funeral Services to celebrate Tom’s life were held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Bennie Cowger officiating.

Mildred Shaver
Gaston Wine
Mildred Shaver Gaston Wine, 92, of Exchange, WV went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2023 surrounded by family.
She was born on November 7, 1930 in Exchange, WV to the late Virgil and Mary Tonkin Shaver. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jesse Gaston, and husband of 24 years, Eakle Wine; son, Darrell Gaston; daughters, Annette Gaston and Linda Fields; grandson, Raymond Fields; brothers, Lawrence Shaver, Willard Shaver, and Argil Shaver; two infant sisters and Evelyn Brown.
Mildred was a faithful member of Sunrise Church from childhood. She was a Christian first and foremost and loved singing praises for her Lord and Savior. Mildred was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed her garden, and loved spending time with her cats.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Jay Gaston (Reva), Gary Gaston (Sharon), and Roger Gaston (Cindy); daughter; Patricia Morrison (Dale); grandsons, Gary Dale Morrison (Shanna), and Anthony Fields; granddaughters, April Donathan, Jessica Dale (Chuck), Debaroh Street (George), and Autumn Osborne (Seth); 13-great grandchildren; brothers, Dana Shaver, and Richard Shaver (Janice); sisters, Yvonda Westfall, Rebecca Boyd (John), and Shirley Ranson, and several nieces and nephews,
Service was held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 am at Stockert Funeral Home, Flatwoods, WV. Pastor Dennis Shaver officiated the service. Visitation was on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Final resting place was in the Stout Cemetery, Flatwoods, WV.

Kenneth E. Harper
Kenneth E. Harper, 83, of Elyria, passed away at his residence on Tuesday September 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 4, 1940 in Sutton, West Virginia. Kenneth had resided in Elyria for 55 years and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of West Ridge Baptist Church in Amherst for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, bike riding, and camping.
Kenneth Harper is survived by: his five daughters, Linda Harper of Elyria, Bonnie Hamilton (Richard) of Elyria, Peggy Harper of Elyria, Janice Smith of Elyria, and Shirley Provoznik (Daniel) of Olympia, WA; five granddaughters, Elizabeth Hamilton, Amber Whitsell, Melinda Veres (Andrew), Kaleigh Smith and Lindsey Smith; three grandsons, Jesse Hamilton, Christopher Provoznik, and Daniel “Scotty” Provoznik; 11 great granddaughters; 9 great grandsons; two sisters, Faye Shrum (Mike) and Brenda Berry (Jim); and six brothers, Ernest Harper (MaryLou), Wilbert Harper (Debbie), Everett Harper (Audrey), Dwight Harper, Delmas Harper, and John Harper.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Sue Harper (nee Hamner) in 2020; his parents, Lester and Ocie (nee Fisher) Harper; his grandson, Kenneth E. Hamilton in 1979; two great grandsons, Alex Hamilton in 2007 and Grayson Hules in 2023; and by a sister, Dorothea Harper.
The family welcomed friends to join them on Saturday September 30, 2023 for visitation from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm at West Ridge Baptist Church, 46280 Telegraph Rd., Amherst. Rev. Roger Rice officiated the service. A luncheon was held following the service. The burial was on Monday at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.


Helen Louise Elswick
Helen Louise Elswick, 91, of Little Birch, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Braxton Healthcare Center, Sutton.
She was born August 12, 1932 in Sutton, WV the daughter of the late, Samuel Guy & Daisey Bell Claypoole Riffle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hollie Elswick.
Helen is survived by her sons, Ronnie Elswick of NM, Robert Elswick of VA; daughters, Carol Dillon, Kay Elswick, and Kathy Dillon all of Sutton, Joann Mongold of VA; brothers, Robert Riffle and Kenneth Riffle both of Sutton; sister, Shirley Squires of Sutton; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, with the Rev. Linn Schiefer officiating. Burial followed at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery, Sutton. Friends called 11:30 till time of service at the funeral home.

Bessie Wilson
Bessie Wilson, 99 years of age of Birch River, passed away Wednesday November 8, 2023 in the Braxton Healthcare Center at Flatwoods. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lilly Bell Jackson Keener and was born in Braxton County December 13, 1923. Bessie was a homemaker, faithful Christian and member of the Long Run Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Ellis Wilson, daughter Caren Wilson and one son Charles Wilson.
Surviving: Sons Clyde Wilson Birch River Chester Wilson Uniontown, Ohio Carl Wilson Kenna Wilson both of Akron, Ohio, Daughter Charlene Corbitt Birch River.
Several Grandchildren, Great and Great-Great Grandchildren
Funeral services were conducted at noon on Friday November 10th in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Ron Tinney officiating. Burial followed in the Cutlip Cemetery at Bays.
Friends called at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Dottie Louise Burn
Dottie Louise Burns, 65, of Heaters, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 4, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born in Sutton, WV on December 8, 1957. Dottie was a Christian and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Stalnaker and Deloris Stalnaker and daughter, Chrystal Burns.
Dottie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim Burns, daughter, Chasity Ware (Jason), grandchildren, Tori Lucas (Wyatt), Lilly Ware, Caleb Ware (Ceairra Pennington), Addison Burns and Lana Burns. Great grandchildren, Oaklyn and River. Adopted daughter, Jolene Burns. Brothers, Billy Joe Stalnaker (Tamara), John Stalnaker (Beth) and Rodney Stalnaker. Many nieces and nephews.
Dottie spent most of her life caring for others. It was truly a calling. She worked in the Health Care system and the Foster Care system for many years. She had the desire and patience to show her love, and God’s love through her, to others.
From making Christmas cookies for her entire community to embracing a foster child as her own. She loved flowers and working with them, putting them in pots and making flower beds. She enjoyed going to yard sales and on occasion, she would have one of her own. Another one of her enjoyed past times, was fishing with the grandkids.
Besides the Lord, Dottie’s greatest love was for her family. It was a special time for her when family gathered for holiday meals. She enjoyed cooking and, for sure, everyone enjoyed eating her cooking. She liked cookouts and playing horse shoes. Although, she converted to cornhole the last few years.
Dottie was a kind, caring, loving and patient person who helped a lot of people in her life. She will be missed but her memories will always be in our hearts.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at Lake Lane, Heaters, WV, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 3 pm. She touched many, many lives during her time here on earth.

Ursula Amalie Martha Wriston, 63, of Fayetteville, WV went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
She was born August 29, 1960 in Mannheim, Germany the daughter of the late Alfred & Anneliese Hoffman.
was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and homemaker, she was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Ansted, WV.
She is survived by her husband, James Wriston, Jr.; sons, James Wriston of Fayetteville, Andrius Jacob of Germany; daughters, Fay Wriston of Weston, WV, Heidi, Alexandria Hirschman both of Germany; sisters, Ingrid and Christiana both of Germany; 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, at 2:00pm with Rev Eric Thomas officiating. Burial followed at Wriston Cemetery, Road Run Rd Sutton.

Harry Dale Cutlip
Harry Dale Cutlip, 85, of Elkins, formerly of Exchange, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 12, 1938, in Exchange to the late Von and “Doad” Blake Cutlip.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Cutlip; brothers Von Cutlip, Jr., Fred Cutlip, Earl Cutlip and Jack Cutlip; sisters, Vivian “Toots” Stout, Lelah Satterfield, and Iris Singleton Beauchamp.
Harry was a retired mechanic. He enjoyed taking care of his farm. One of his favorite pastimes was working on farm tractors. He liked to deer hunt. He was an excellent provider for his family. He had a great sense of humor and made friends easily. His trips to Walmart gave him great pleasure and he entertained all the greeters and staff there. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 65 years, Jeanette Campbell Cutlip; sons, Michael Cutlip and wife, Christine, of Jane Lew and Steven Cutlip of Fairmont; sister, Reva Fincham and husband, Demi, of Exchange; daughter-in-law, Barbara “Fritz” Cutlip of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Matt Cutlip, Ashley Lewis (Hunter) and Adam Cutlip; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Harry’s funeral will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Mark McMillion officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cutlipsville Cemetery, Exchange.
His visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
