What was originally scheduled to be a short County Commission meeting to approve budget revisions prior to the State mandated submission date had an agenda containing seven items. The gathering was called to order at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 12 by President Lisa Godwin.
County Clerk Sue Rutherford submitted the documentation for the budget revisions. Following a brief review Larry Clifton made a motion to approve them as presented. It was also Clifton who introduced action to approve the resolution accompanying the revision to the Coal Severance Fund.
A second item on the agenda for discussion was approval to advertise for interested persons to fill a vacancy on the Braxton County Board of Health. Permission was granted to proceed with the solicitation.
The remaining items on the agenda were five purchase orders. The first was submitted by the Office of Emergency Services. BDG Mobile Repair Service of Clarksburg will repair the command and communications trailer recently donated to the county at a cost of $4,302.
Two items were submitted by the Sheriff’s Office. All American Uniforms will provide miscellaneous uniform items, a Glock 17 holster and badge costing a total of $547.57. Evans Auto will repair an air conditioner on a 2014 Police Cruiser at a cost of $703.79.
Rich’s Refrigeration will rebuild an existing backflow prevention value at the courthouse at a cost of $767.12.
The final item was $1,048 to General Appliance LLC for a new 40-gallon hot water tank for the Animal Shelter.
Being no additional items on the Special Meeting agenda to consider the meeting adjourned at 8:06 a.m.
