BoE Interviews 5 for Superintendent’s position

The Braxton County Board of Education conducted interviews of the five finalists for the position of superintendent on May 16.
Board President DeAnna Whipkey called the special meeting to order at 10:00 am. On a motion by Dr. Martha Dean with a second by Evelyn Post, the board went into executive session in order to conduct the interviews. President Whipkey announced the board would be taking a lunch recess from 12 noon until 1:00 pm and then they would continue the interview process in the afternoon.
The board reconvened back into regular session at 6:21 pm. Dr. Martha Dean moved to complete background checks and verify credentials of the five finalists with a second by Dolores Wright. The board approved the motion moving the superintendent search forward.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:23 pm. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 24 at 6:00 pm.
