Donna Burge-Tetrick, Braxton County Superintendent of Schools has announced a grand opening of the newly remodeled gymnasium at Braxton County High School Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m.
“As your superintendent, I would love to invite you to the new “Eagle’s Nest!” We will be hosting a Grand Opening and Alumni/Community Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 17, at 1 PM at the newly renovated Braxton County High School Gym,” Burge-Tetrick stated in a website and Facebook post.
The new gymnasium will seat 650 fans, has a full regulation court for basketball and volleyball and was designed especially for the Eagle’s by students, staff, and the community. The gym will feature a new state of the art sound system and media wall that will help fans get up close and personal to the action.
“I am so excited to unveil this project to our students and community. Everyone is invited to come spend the afternoon with us, enjoy the day and some food from our newly constructed concession stand. You can get in on the action and play some ball or set back and enjoy watching others play,” she added.
“I want to especially thank our Board of Education members, the CTE students and staff who worked hard on this project, as well as special donors Mid-State Automotive, the Braxton County Rotary, and an anonymous donor,” Dr. Burge-Tetrick concluded.
