Nicole Bramble selected BCHS Homecoming Queen

Karl Boyce to serve as King

Highlighting last Friday’s Eagles football game against Liberty Harrison was Braxton County High School’s 54th Homecoming Coronation. Nicole Bramble was chosen as the 2023 BCHS Homecoming Queen. She is the daughter of Jennifer Knowles of Sutton. Karl Michael Boyce, son of April Ramsey-Boyce and Karl Boyce of Burnsville, was crowned Homecoming King.

Nicole is a member of the cross country team, color guard, as well as the track and field teams at BCHS. After graduation, Nicole plans to enlist in the U.S. Military while attending an in-state college and furthering her running career. She was escorted by senior prince Sawyer Bleigh. He is the son of Regina Bleigh of Sutton.

King Karl is a member of the football team at BCHS. After graduation, he plans to attend Fred Eberle or UNOH to study HVAC repair with the goal of opening his own HVAC business.

Also representing the senior class were senior princesses Sienna Gwynn and Erica Nicholson.

Sienna is the daughter of Connie and Brian Gwynn of Napier. She is President of Student Council and a NSHSS member. After high school, she plans to attend WVU or Fairmont State to study nursing. She was escorted by Karl Michael Boyce.

Erica Nicholson, daughter of Leah and Eric Nicolson of Burnsville, is a member of the soccer, basketball, and softball teams at BCHS. After graduation, she plans to enlist in the Air National Guard and attend WVU to be a Radiologist. She was escorted by Landon Stewart. He is the son of Ian and Sonya Stewart of Sutton.

Lilly Hines, daughter of Derrick Hines of Sutton, was one of the freshmen class representatives. She was escorted by fellow freshman Landon Hart, son of Bobby and Ashley Hart of Duck.

Flora Hopen also represented the freshmen class. She is the daughter of Bill and AiQu Hopen of Sutton. She was escorted by Trevor Edgerton, son of Angie Short of Frametown.

The sophomore class was represented by Novalee Bennett and Ciara Bell.

Novalee is the daughter of Ernie and Amanda Bennett of Rosedale. Jayden Wheeler served as Ciara’s escort. He is the son of Jason and Danielle Shanabarger of Flatwoods.

Ciara is the daughter of Heather Massey of Gassaway. She was escorted JJ Johnson, son of Ruth and Charles Riffle of Exchange.

Piper Estep and Nivia McCourt represented the junior class.

Piper is the daughter of Tonya and Scott Estep of Frametown. Her escort was Connor Facemire, son of Addi Facemire of Gassaway.

Nivia is the daughter of Kathy McCourt of Exchange. Her escort was Alex Steele. He is the son of Bill and Gina Kammerrer of Duck.

Rounding out the Homecoming Court was the flower girl and crown carriers. Blaire Spaur served as flower girl. She is the daughter of Crystal and Burton Spaur of Flatwoods. The crown carriers were Wrenley Porto, the daughter of Josh and Jessica Porto of Gassaway and Anni Robinson, the daughter of Donivan Robinson and Hailey Vaughan of Birch River.

King Karl Boyce received his crowned from BCHS Principal Lori Stover-Williams.

Queen Nicole Bramble was crowned by the 2022 Homecoming Queen, Brooke Wood. Queen Nicole received her traditional green Braxton Homecoming cloak and flowers from Assistant Principal Mr. John McElwain.
