Lisa Conant receives City National’s City Cares Award

City National Bank has awarded Lisa Conant, Vice President, Retail Banking and Branch Manager of the Flatwoods and Sutton branches with the City Cares award for outstanding community service. As part of her award recognition, Lisa chose Braxton County Humane Society to receive a $1500 donation.

Lisa volunteers often in her community, working with numerous events and organizations. She organizes donation drives for Just One Generation Cat Rescue and works with the Braxton County Coalition with their toy drives for children.

Each year, City recognizes employees who are dedicated to serving their communities with the City Cares award and a donation to a charity of their choice. Lisa was nominated for the award by her peers and was one of six winners chosen this year.

“City’s many generous and community-minded employees are the driving force behind our commitment to serve the communities where we live and work. This year’s City Cares winners exemplify that giving spirit that has become an integral part of our daily work,” President and CEO Skip Hageboeck said.

Elk Conservation District announces fall approvals

The Elk Conservation District (ECD) provides local self-government leadership and initiative for the development and conservation of soil, water, and related resources. In cooperation with private landowners, government agencies, and private organizations, we will develop an integrated planning, education, and management program that will protect, restore, and enhance those resources. The ultimate goal is to protect and conserve our soil, land, water, and related resources for the health, safety, and general welfare of our state’s citizens. In addition to our conservation planning services, we also assist in stream restoration and provide educational programming to schools and civic organizations about the value of conservation and stewardship of the environment.
