FCRPSD Receives $5 Million Grant for Wastewater Project in Braxton County

Congresswoman Carol Miller announced last week that a grant of $5 million from the Appalachian Regional Commission and other federal and local sources for the Holly Gray Park Sanitary Sewer Extension project in Flatwoods-Canoe Run Public Service District. This project will provide new wastewater service to 77 households in Braxton County, including an improved sewer access at the Braxton County Airport.
“Refining our wastewater systems is crucial in the development of our community and the enhancement of the quality of life for Braxton County residents,” said Congresswoman Miller. “I am grateful to the Appalachian Regional Commission for their investment in this project and am looking forward to the improvement of new sewer system facilities across West Virginia.”
With the Flatwoods-Canoe Run Public Service District serving over 1,276 residents, this project will improve sewer systems to 77 residences, enhance sewage facilities at the county-owned Holly Gray Park, and replace a sewer plant at the Braxton County Airport.
The Appalachian Regional Commission provided a grant worth of $2,575,000 with federal sources providing $500,000, and local sources providing $2,650,000.
