The 29th Annual Central West Virginia Mule and Donkey Show will be held Saturday and Sunday September 9th &10th at Holly Gray Park. The show will start at 2:00 PM Saturday and again on Sunday, at 10:00 AM. Admission is $5 per person. Age 6 and under free.
The Central West Virginia Mule and Donkey Show was started over 25 years ago by Robert “Bob” Smith originally of Gassaway, the son of Wayne and Mable Smith.
In addition to fifty-five classes of the show, there will be vendors including Dories Concessions, Jimmy Z’s Food Truck and Country Roads Ice Cream. Camping, both primitive and electrical hookup, are available. Restrooms and shower facilities are on the grounds.
Negative coggins test and out of state health certificates are required for all animals participating. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Contestants from West Virginia and surrounding states will compete in twenty classes on Saturday and an additional 25 on Sunday. Entry fee is $5 per class, except for classes 36, 37 and 43 which are $10 each.
Awards will be presented to the first five places in each class.
