#6 in 2025 Class on XC championship team

Teagan Huff, sixth in this year’s BCHS graduating class, did not hesitate when asked what in her high school career had made the biggest impact on her. “Winning the state cross country championship back-to-back and being the first Braxton girls’ team to be state champions,” she said.  Huff explained one reason this accomplishment had such a large impact on her. “It was something I didn’t think was possible, and it showed me that many things I don’t think are possible may be, “she said.

The daughter of Phil and Shannon Huff, this young woman is active in extracurricular activities at school and is busy outside of school.  She belongs to HOSA, HSTA, the local chapter of the National Honor Society, and runs cross country.  Outside of school, she “likes to hang out with family,” and she also has three jobs. She works at Camp Holly Gray, baby-sits, and dog-sits.

Huff’s favorite teacher is social studies instructor Jerry Frame.  She explained that she chose Frame because “he’s a good teacher, he’s good with kids, and he’s funny.”  Her favorite class is Health Care taught by Stephanie Moore.  “I like this class because I have a passion to help people.  That class kind of gives me a taste of that,” she noted.

This fall, Huff will enroll at Potomac State College.  She explained why. “The coach there contacted me and asked me to run cross country for their team. Also, the school is not super-populated, and it feels like home,” she said.  At Potomac State, she will study biology to lead into medical school.  She plans to transfer to West Virginia University after her sophomore year to go into pre-med because she wants to become a physician.
