Braelyn Criner, the daughter of Tim and Amanda Criner, has decided where she wants to go in life and how she can get there. She has her course carefully planned.

Her plans include obtaining a physical trainer degree at Marshall University. “It’s a five-year plan,” she said, “with three years to obtain a bachelor’s degree and two for a master’s.”  Following that she plans to earn a DPT in physical therapy and work as a sports physical therapist. “I plan to work in that area while I am young and then open a private practice when I get older,”  Criner explained.

At Braxton County High, this young woman has been quite busy. She loves twirling and has been the feature twirler for the band. She also plans to twirl in college.  In addition, she is student council president and a member of FBLA, HSTA, and the local chapter of National Honor Society.

Criner chose the CTE class in personal fitness as her favorite class. She named Jerry Frame as her favorite teacher. “He forms a great relationship with his students, and he has been someone I can go to for support any time,” she said.

Asked about the most important experience she has had in four years at Braxton County High, she said, “I had the opportunity to be a group leader at Student Council Fall Convention. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it also showed me how much I enjoy leading and being in a leadership position.”
