Get ready for an evening of intrigue, delicious food, and dazzling diamonds (well, maybe not real ones!) as the Gassaway Depot transforms into a scene of suspense for the “Goering’s Diamonds Murder Mystery Dinner and Show” on March 1st. This unique fundraising event promises a night of entertainment while supporting the Gassaway Days Celebration.
Set in 1945, near the end of World War II, the interactive murder mystery plunges attendees into a world of international espionage and jewel thievery. The story unfolds at a train station in Lyon, France, where a group of suspicious characters has gathered with the shared goal of stealing a suitcase full of diamonds from an American Army Officer. But, as the title suggests, the pursuit of these precious stones turns deadly.
Guests will become immersed in the drama as they try to deduce whodunit while enjoying a delectable meal. The menu features a choice of spaghetti or chicken fettuccine with sauce, accompanied by salad, breadsticks, dessert, and drinks.
“This isn’t your typical dinner event,” says Sandy Simons Gassaway Days Celebration/Gassaway Town Council Member. “It’s a fully interactive experience where everyone plays a role. You’ll be trying to figure out who the killer is while enjoying a fantastic meal and supporting a great cause.”
Adding to the excitement, attendees are encouraged to embrace the glamour of the 1940s and dress in their favorite glitz and bling. The evening will also feature items for auction and 50/50 drawings, offering additional opportunities to contribute to the Gassaway Days Celebration.
Tickets for the “Goering’s Diamonds Murder Mystery Dinner & Show” are $65 per person and can be purchased at Gassaway Days Celebration Facebook Page. The event will take place from 7 PM to 9 PM with the doors opening at 6 PM at the Gassaway Depot, located at 100 4th St., Gassaway.
