Eagles’ success continues with win over Roane

By Shirley Shuman

The Braxton Eagles boys basketaball team defeated the Roane Raiders 55-43 Saturday night.  The Eagles have now won six in a row and are 7-2 on the season.

Coach Josh Lunceford commented that against Roane his team “ played an undisciplined first half” as they “were rusty from not being in the gym.”  He added,   “They tightened things up a little bit in the second half” but pointed out   “they still have a way to go.”

In addition to Stevie Boggs’ 20 points, Ryken Rutherford was also in double figures with 13.  Logan Baldwin added 7, Brady Toler 9 and Owen Lowther 6.

The Eagles have four games on their schedule this week.  Tuesday they play Clay, Wednesday Nicholas,  and Friday they host Doddridge.  Saturday they travel to Tucker County.
