The Braxton Knights outscored South Harrison 5-0 in an important conference game last week. Coach Lindsey Casto called the win “fully a team effort” and said, “We are proud of the communication and grit we had on the field.”
Scoring for the Knights came from Holden Lloyd who led with three goals and Raiden Davis and Jack Hughes, each with one goal. Lloyd was named player of the game not only for the goals he scored but also for playing a new position for part of the game. Hannah received honorable mention because she “applied pressure to every player that came across mid and quick feet to do so,” Coach Casto commented.
Also, with this game, Paisleigh Rowe and Audrina Facemire were confirmed official varsity players. The two, Coach Lindsay Harman noted, “have been flexing up from junior varsity to provide assistance and have earned the ability to officially be on the roster ahead of the team’s conference playoff bid.” See additional Knights’ sports coverage on page 8.
