Jarrells claim to honors at West Virginia State Fair

Melody Jarrell and her father, Dennis Jarrell of Gassaway, recently displayed winning entries at the 99th Annual West Virginia State Fair, in Lewisburg, WV. 

Melody completed her 5th year sewing project in making a full-size 4-H themed quilt which won first place and Best of Show in the 4-H division.  This was Melody’s 3rd Best of Show at the West Virginia State Fair since 2019. 

She is an 8-year member and President of the Chapel Hi-Fliers 4-H Club.  She also received first place ribbons for a pen and ink drawing, an oil pastel drawing and a peacock diamond painting which won a Best of Show Ribbon in the decorative painting and glass collage category in the regular exhibits.  Dennis Jarrell entered his West Virginia themed Barn Quilt and also won first place in the category.  This was his first exhibit entry at the State Fair.
