Stonewall Jackson Hospital to Offer Pregnancy and Childbirth Classes in Braxton

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial is partnering with Mountain CAP Braxton County Family Support Center to offer pregnancy and childbirth classes for expectant mothers in Braxton County.
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6PM, the six-week pregnancy class series will offer strength based education that includes what to expect in each trimester, signs of preterm labor, stages of labor, comfort measures and pain control options, postpartum care, and an introduction to breastfeeding. Each class will be held at the Braxton County Family Support Center in Gassaway.
“We are offering this series to increase access to close-to-home pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum education for pregnant women in Braxton County,” said Mindy Mussano, Perinatal Nurse Navigator at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “My goal for these classes is to help every mom feel empowered, prepared, and confident through her pregnancy and birth.”
Upon completion of the class series, expectant mothers will receive a car seat, additional baby care items, and breastfeeding supplies. Those interested in attending the classes must register by calling (304) 364-7121.
