Judith Ann (Gregory) Talerico
Judith Ann (Gregory) Talerico, 76, formerly of Heaters, passed away on July 23, 2024, at her home in Bluffton, SC. Judy was born on May 1, 1948, in Sutton, WV to the late Harley Paul Gregory and Virginia Mae (Dodrill) Gregory.
Judy leaves behind her husband, Anthony (Tony) Talerico whom she married on December 29, 1973. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee Gregory; sister-in-law, Lula Marlene Groff Gregory; sister-in-law, Alice Talerico Muto; and sister-in-law Anita Talerico.
Judy graduated from Sutton High School Blue Devils class of 1966.
Judy had numerous jobs in the data processing field, Hope Gas in Clarksburg, and American Express in Denver were memorable parts of Judy’s life. Judy retired from American Express in 1994.
Judy also enjoyed RV’ing to the numerous National parks in the west and decorating her new homes Maryland, Colorado, New Mexico, and South Carolina.
Judy leaves behind a large and loving family. Sister, Janet Gregory Shure, Bluffton, SC; sister-in-law, Arline Talerico Richards and husband Jeff of West Milford, WV; brother-in-law, Thomas Muto of Fairmont WV; nieces and nephews, Robyn Lynn (Gregory) Dolan and husband Jim of Sutton, WV, Tamera Lee (Gregory) Facemire and husband Doug of Sutton, WV, Karson (Richards) Barnhart and husband Jeffery of Clarksburg, Andrew Richards and wife Donielle, West Milford, WV, Marc Muto and wife Lisa, Ona, WV, Melissa (Muto) Curtis and husband Tyson, Allentown, PA, Casey Moore of Clarksburg, WV; Numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, Ian Stewart and wife Sonya, Heath Stewart and Michele Perozich, Joseph Stewart and Terri Dodd, Cory Facemire, Kayla (Facemire) Spelsberg and husband Johnathan, Jessie (Facemire) Coplin and husband Asa. 12 great grand-nieces and great grand nephews; Jadyn, Landon, Ashton, Gabby, Brenna, Sahra, Slaton, Rhett, Nash, Julian, Ava and Elliana.
Judy will be truly missed by Tony. She lived a wonderful life. Judy loved her beloved children, dogs, Snowball, Buddy, Sparky and Winston. As Judy and Tony moved from West Virginia to various other states, Judy would mother her kids on all the long journeys. Noting the sights along the way.
Service for Judy will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Stockert Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV. Visitation will be from 4 pm-7 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024 and 10:30-11:00 am on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Orval Odis Crites
Orval Odis Crites, 85, of Erbacon passed away at his home on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born September 8, 1938, in Erbacon, a son of the late Orval Grant Crites and Rushie Belle Jackson Crites.
Odis was a 1959 graduate of Cowen High School. He worked for Quality Casting machine shop in Ohio and many years in the sawmill in WV and was an EMT and volunteer firefighter and charter member for the Erbacon Volunteer Fire Department. Odis enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, auctions, hunting and being the “faithful keeper” of the Sunset Memorial Park.
Surviving is his children, Jeffrey (Angela R) Crites and Mitzi (Jody) Long, both of Erbacon; grandchildren, Misty, Brandon, Brittany, Brianna; great-grandchildren, Danessa, Sandra, Emma, Jesse, Lexi, Elana, Aliyah, Aria and Shyteesha; and great-great grandson Maddix, and one additional on the way.
Services were held at 12:00pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen with Brother Larry Armentrout officiating. A gathering of family and friends was held from 11:00am until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park in Erbacon.

Charles Leslie Given “Les”
Charles Leslie Given “Les”, 88, of Craigsville passed away June 14, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 24, 1936, the son of the late Roy and Pearl Given.
Les was retired from the United States Forest Service. He was a member of Beaver Freewill Baptist Church. Les was a friend to many and the rock of his family. He was the best dad, father-in-law and pap in the world and will forever be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Wanda Given; his children, Andy (Susanne) Given and Crystle (Jerry) Clemens. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, Rachel (Rick) Floyd; Charlie (Kayla) Given, Nicholas Given, MacKenzie and JaAnna Clemens and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother James Given of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
Services were held Monday June 17, 2024 at 1:00pm at Beaver Freewill Baptist Church, Craigsville with Pastor Mike Malcomb officiating. A gathering of family and friends was held from 11:00 pm until the time of service on Monday at the church. Burial followed at Russell Cemetery in Craigsville. Charles Lee “Chip” Martin
Charles Lee “Chip” Martin, 80, of Webster Springs passed away July 5, 2024, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins, WV with his daughters by his side. Chip was born on February 16, 1944, in Cherry Falls, WV, the son of Clara Mitchell and Martha Debbie.
He served in the United States Army, married Lois Winkler, and had two daughters.
Chip owned Martin Sanitation for over 40 years. He also owned the Quality Mart in Cherry Falls for several years. He enjoyed serving his community. He was a Mason in the Addison Lodge #116 for 50 years.
Chip retired to spend time on his farm. He loved gardening and taking care of his cows.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roxie Hamrick. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Anderson and Tina Farley both of Webster Springs; his two grandsons Martin (Adraina) Anderson and Coy (Maria) Anderson; one great grandson Chance and another great grandchild on the way; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Rev. Clarence McCourt officiating. Burial will follow at WV Memorial Gardens in Calvin, WV. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00pm until 9:00pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home.

Wilma Sue Talbott
Wilma Sue Talbott, of Webster Springs WV, passed away peacefully at age 83 on July 8, 2024 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Sue was born in Nicholas County on April 27, 1941 and was a lifelong Administrative Assistant and Manager in Webster Springs, WV, including Cutlip’s Department Store, Webster Television Cable Company, Webster Woodlands, Inc, and her beloved favorite charitable cause Webster Springs Main Street.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph B. Talbott of Webster Springs and her son in law Robert D. Wong of Charleston, WV. Sue is survived by her sisters, Kay Zevenbergen (Lee) of Knoxville, TN, Judy Sanders of Marlinton, WV, daughters Kelli Talbott of Charleston, WV and Sherri Wong of Charleston, WV, and grandsons Joseph Wong (Danielle) of Knightdale, NC and Jeffrey Wong (Gretchen) of Alexandria, VA.
Sue wished to be cremated, with interment to the Talbott family camp in rural Webster County.
Memorial Services to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Friends may join the family for a time of gathering one hour prior to service time, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon, at the Funeral Home.

Fern Louise Tracy
Fern Louise Tracy, 85 of Webster Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2024 at her home with her children by her side.
She was born March 17, 1939 in Webster Springs to the late Rev. William W. and Angie Nettie Cochran Tracy.
She attended and was a member of Orndoff Community Church; enjoyed flower gardening, singing, and was a lifelong Christian. After she retired, she was a caretaker of her invalid mother and other family members and close friends. She liked to keep her lawn neatly trimmed, being outdoors, and fishing. She loved her cats and in her earlier years she enjoyed painting.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brothers Roy Jack Tracy and Denver A. Tracy; and sisters Inez M. Life, Areta V. Parker, Winnifred N. Skidmore, Jewell A. McCourt, Norma Jean Knight, and Martha A. Cole.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Mike McCourt; daughter Lisa Hines; grandson Eric Hines; great-granddaughter Aria Hines; brother William W. Tracy, Jr.; sister Zana L. Freeman; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends to mourn her passing.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Harrison Cochran Cemetery, Grassy Creek, with Rev. Clarence McCourt officiating.

Millard Delind “Dee” Kinslow
Millard Delind “Dee” Kinslow, 77 of Boggs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side. Dee was born April 30, 1947, in Upper Glade, the son of Sam Ed Kinslow and Myrtle Ora Worley Kinslow.
Dee was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was proud to be in Company A First Battalion 7th Calvary. He was a member of the Honor Guard. Dee worked for Island Creek Coal Company for twenty years.
He was an avid hunter, fisher, and loved hunting ginseng. Dee enjoyed working with wood and leather, watching sports, and playing his guitar. He attended Powells Mountain Church for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Vaden Kinslow and sister Faye Sanders.
Surviving is his loving wife Lynn Ayers Kinslow; two sons, Keith (Kim) Kinslow and Tom (Jody) Kinslow, both of Birch River; sister, Luene (Mike) Thomas and sister in law, Anita Kinslow both of Tennessee; grandchildren, Kalyn (Matt) Smalley, Keisha (Chad) Bennett, Abigail Kinslow, Jackson Kinslow and Harlie (Wes) Miller; and great grandchildren, Maverick, Kade, Zuri, Winry and Felicity.
Services were held at 12:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen with Pastor Linn Schieffer officiating. Burial followed at the family cemetery in Boggs. A gathering of family and friends were held from 10:00 am until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Billy James
Conrad
Billy James Conrad, 85, of Aurora, WV, passed away on July 22, 2024, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on August 31, 1938, in Orlando, WV, he was the son of the late Emmett Conrad and Rethe (Vankirk) Conrad.
Billy graduated from Burnsville High School in 1958, he then served in the United States Army until 1961, and was married to his beloved wife on July 21, 1962. He worked at Lockheed Aircraft, the North Branch and Laurel Run Mines, and retired from the Consol Energy Coal Mines. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 71, Oakland, MD, and was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and working on and building guns, and his most precious time was spent with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ressie L. (Wine) Conrad; his son, David Alan Conrad; two grandchildren, Daniel James Conrad and wife Amanda, and Zachary Alan Conrad; a brother, Charles Lane Conrad of Augusta, GA; and a sister Beulah Ford, of New Middletown, OH.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gary James Conrad; four brothers, Eugene, Raymond, Junior and Johnny Conrad; and one sister, Pauline Conrad.
Friends were received on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM at the Aurora Memorial Building. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11 AM in the Aurora United Methodist Church with Pastor Tony Conrad officiating. Interment followed in the Aurora Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.

Clyde Andrew Morehead
Clyde Andrew Morehead, 85, of Annapolis, Maryland went to be with his Lord, Savior and Friend on July 19, 2024 at his Annapolis, MD home surrounded by his family. Born on the family farm near Elizabeth, West Virginia, July 25, 1938, he was the son of the late James Wille and Frank (Hoffman) Morehead. Clyde met the love of his life, Frankie Cutlip, in Canada while on a ski trip with Fourth Presbyterian Church’s singles group (Ambassadors). They married in 1974 and were devoted to each other for over 50 years.
Clyde grew up on Morehead Ridge near Elizabeth, West Virginia. He developed a strong grip from milking cows which caused people to avoid shaking his hand. During his daily chores he spent the time learning the alphabet backwards so he could compete in the 4-H tribe talent contest. Clyde enjoyed the family pastime of playing board games as well as any games involving athletic competition.
Clyde attended a one-room elementary school near his childhood home. While attending Wirt County High school, he won the “Golden Horseshoe” which is awarded for knowledge of West Virginia history. After graduating from Wirt County High School (class of 1956), Clyde earned his B.S. degree in Physics from West Virginia University. He moved to Annapolis in 1960 and worked for the Department of Defense at the David Taylor Research Center for 35 years. He served as senior project engineer and physicist in the ship silencing division where he patented quieting devices for the U.S. Navy’s submarine and surface fleet air-compressors. After his retirement, he worked for an additional 5 years for Anteon as an engineering consultant.
Clyde was an active member of Heritage Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, head teller, trustee, ESOL instructor, relief custodian, van driver, pre-school worker, church dishwasher and backpack buddies helper.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed competitive games of horseshoes, tennis, ping pong and cards. He looked forward to his yearly trip to the Morehead Family Reunion. He loved baking sourdough bread, keeping the daily mean temperature, gardening, yard work and daily long walks. He had a well deserved reputation as a prankster with his close friends and family. He was an avid follower of sports and loved watching WVU football and basketball, Washington D.C. football and professional tennis. He loved the many family pets they had over the years. Lastly, he had a never ending craving for dark chocolate and ice cream.
He is survived by his wife Frankie Jean (Cutlip) Morehead and three children: Nathaniel Frank Morehead (Lindsay) of Annapolis, MD; Heather Dacelle-Morehead Merritt (Andrew) of Riva, MD; and Patrick Andrew Morehead (Emily) of Bozman, MD; and his six grandchildren, Ethan and Ella Merritt, and Andrew, Calvin, Douglas and Hugh Morehead. He is also survived by his brother George William Morehead of Woodhaven, Michigan, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Ethel Louise Morehead, Jean Ilene (Morehead) Kilburn, Charles Everett Morehead and Walter Clair Morehead.

The memorial service will be held at Heritage Baptist Church on Saturday August 10, 2024. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m, and there will be a service at 11:00 a.m. which will be followed by a meal in the Fellowship Hall (near the Sanctuary).
An interment ceremony will be held near his childhood home in Elizabeth, West Virginia at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been provided by Taylor Funeral Home.
Donald Ray Wine, Sr.
Donald Ray Wine, Sr. 84, of Webster Springs, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 26, 2024.
Born March 12, 1940 in Webster Springs, he was the son of the late Oscar and Lillian (Cochran) Wine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Bobby Wine, Johnny Joe Wine, and Shirley Wine; sister, Marjorie Arthur; and step-brother, Hayward Cutlip.
Donald retired from Webster County Memorial Hospital Maintenance department after working there for over thirty years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a skilled craftsman, and on any given day you could find him having had created a masterpiece out of any ol’ piece of wood. His love for the Lord led him to become the Pastor of Big Run Church. He would also spread the news of his Savior throughout nursing homes and even in jails in a quest to give everyone an opportunity to be led to Jesus Christ. He attended church at New Hope Church and Jumbo Community Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Donnie Wine; grand-daughter, Tiffany Wine; daughter-in-law, Drema Wine; brother, Norman Wine; sisters: Bonnie Rice, Cleo Chapman, and Betty Hamrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends to mourn his passing.
Services to celebrate Donald’s life will be held 1pm, Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor David Chapman officiating. Friends may join the family from Noon to 1:00PM prior to the service for visitation. Burial will follow at Cogar Cemetery, Guardian.
