The Sutton Detachment of the West Virginia State Police in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint in Braxton County on Friday, July 26. The purpose of the event is to prevent and deter impaired driving.
The Sobriety Checkpoint for Braxton County will be located on West Virginia State Route 4 and 19 near Flatwoods, on the straight stretch of highway in the vicinity of Braxton County High School.
The Sobriety Checkpoint may be moved to an alternate location if the primary location becomes unsafe due to traffic congestion or if a hazardous or otherwise unsafe situation arises.
The Sobriety Checkpoint will be conducted from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on July 26.
Motorists who wish to avoid the Sobriety Checkpoint may choose to take an alternate route of travel.
