Rotary to host Blood Drive in memory of charter member

The Braxton County Rotary Club is hosting a Blood Drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross who says, “The need is great and the gradification is instant!” This event is being held in memory of former Braxton County resident, educator, and a charter member of the Braxton Rotary, David McChesney.

David was a leader in the community for decades and served this county in multiple capacities including being a charter member of the Braxton County Rotary Club. In 2023, David passed away during a cardiovascular surgical procedure where he received over 40 units of blood trying to save his life.

His family, along with the Braxton County Rotary Club, want to honor David’s life by hosting this Blood Drive so that the gift of life may be afforded to others. “Join us by helping the American Red Cross in an effort to save or change the life of someone,” said Club President Dylon Johnson.

Please contact redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule a time. Walk-ins will be accepted, but scheduled appointments are preferred. Anyone needing assistance in scheduling, should contact 304-692-8808 or ask a Rotarian!
