Nutter explained the importance of First Energy’s  support to the community. “First Energy and John Norman have been huge supporters of community growth,” the said. “They want to  get infrastructure to the point that the general public can pursue healthy activity.”  Nutter went on to say that the foundation also supports the Elk River Trail Foundation as well as the county’s convention bureau.

First Energy Foundation has donated more than $3.4million to nearly 100 organizations in the area that First Energy services. “The First Energy Foundation’s contributions to non-profit organizations help strengthen the social and economic fabric of our communities. Funded solely by First Energy, the Foundation extends the corporate philosophy of proving community support,” according to the company’s website.
