On May 12, K. Westley Carpenter graduated from West Virginia University College of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Westley’s studies centered around land use law and real estate.
For his final year at law school, Westley worked as a student attorney for WVU College of Law’s Land Use and Sustainability Law Clinic. The clinic allowed Westley to work with communities all over the State and gain hands-on experience in the practice of law.
Westley received two CALI Awards for outstanding scholarship while completing his law degree and credits his success to the support of his friends and family, along with the outstanding faculty at WVU.
Westley graduated from Braxton County High School in 2009 and received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from West Virginia State University in 2015.
A lifelong resident of Braxton County, Westley is the son of Kevin and Doreen Carpenter, and lives with his family in Sutton. Westley begins work as the 14th Judicial Circuit Law Clerk for the Hon. Jack L. Alsop this month and looks forward to serving the community in years to come.
