Jennings M “Dud” Bennett
Jennings M “Dud” Bennett of Webster Springs WV, passed away on Jan 31, 2023 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV after a prolonged illness. He was born on July 3, 1929, in Randolph Co WV to the late Paul and Lena Bennett.
He was a proud United States Army Veteran who served during World War II. He retired from Altell as a Technology Technician. Dud was a member of the VFW, Eastern Stars, and Masons. He enjoyed rock tumbling, stone cutting, and traveling. He loved the outdoors and spent much time at his cabin on Point Mountain watching the wildlife.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his late wife of 60 years Agatha Bennett and his sister Alma Faye Baker.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister in law, Wynona Knight; special nephew Rick Knight and wife, Brenda of Webster Springs; special niece, Darlene Clifton and husband, Larry of Fairfax, VA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Graveside services with Military Honors and Masonic Rites were held Sunday February 5, 2023, at 11:00 am at Memorial Gardens in Calvin, WV. Rev. Bob Pirylis officiating.

George W. Perrine
George W. Perrine of Webster Springs went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2023 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1949 in Buckhannon to the late Elmer and Ressie (Riffle) Perrine.
George enjoyed building bird houses, pet beds, and carpentry of all sorts. He was a roofer and enjoyed being in his shop with his dog and friend Rick. He loved his family and was a Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Jenny Perrine; brothers Joe and Jerry Perrine; sisters Nancy Hamilton and Dora Jean Anderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cheryl Gee Perrine; son Rusty W. (Laurie) Perrine; grandchildren Jacob, Brandon, and Alyssa (Fiancé Mitch Bugala) Entz, Lindsey (Fiancé Malik Smith), Becca, and Haley Perrine, and Andrea (Jesse) Greer; great grandchildren Grayson Connell and Waylon Greer, and several extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
In keeping with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services will be held at this time.

Jayson Dean “Jake” Jordan
Jayson Dean “Jake” Jordan, 59 of Hookstown, PA, passed unexpectedly Sunday, January 29, 2023 in the comfort of his home. Born December 14, 1963 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Edwin Ray and Pearl (Brown) Jordan. Jake had worked as a truck driver, a member of Teamsters Local #341, and the Hookstown Sons of the American Legion. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed shooting and loved his cat, Sasha.
He is survived by his sisters Charlotte and her husband John Miller and Kim Jordan Curtis. A brother-in-law Mike Curtis, nieces Amanda Lockerbie and Michelle Rambo and his nephew John Ray Miller, also surviving are several great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were welcome to call Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the McConnell Funeral Home, Hookstown, PA. Additional visitation was held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Funeral Services to celebrate Jake’s life were held Saturday at 11am at the Funeral Home. He was be laid to rest in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Hacker Valley.

Windle Earl Bosley
Windle Earl Bosley, 84, of Exchange, WV passed away peacefully at his home in Sutton, WV on January 28th, 2023 with his family by his side.
He was born November 10th, 1938 the son of the late Clyde Bosley and Waneda Blake Bosley. He was also preceded in death by wife, Patsy Johnson Bosley of 47 years; one son, Terry Michael Bosley; granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth Bosley; grandson’s wife, Beverly McHenry. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Shay Bosley, Jim Bosley, Bill Posey, Rondle Bosley, Gary Bosley and one sister, Azalea Bosley.
Windle worked in the Coal Mines, on the Oil Rigs and a was long time Carpenter. He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by one sister, Vivian Ball & Lee Ball of Tanner, WV; children, Rick Bosley of Linn, WV, Shelby Clifton (Mike Knight) of Burnsville, Sandy Keener (Bob) of Sutton, WV, Shirley Riffle (Earl) of Burnsville, WV, Danny Bosley of Sutton, WV, Pam Belknap (Mike) of Burnsville, WV. Also survived by several grandkids, Shawn Bosley, Doug McHenry, Shelia Dillon (Jason), Jonathan Clifton (Casey), Kimberley Teter (James), Amanda Zackoski (Edwin), Jayden and Haley Bosley and Amber Greene(Joey); great grandchildren, Cameron and Ava McHenry, Colten Dillon, Aiden Hamner, Kasey Beckett (Jacob), Alyssa McCumbers (Kobe Strader), Kinslee Zackoski and Annie Greene.
He will be sadly missed by all of his friends and those that knew him.
Funeral services were held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home with Rev Donnie Stout officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Burnsville, WV. Friends called one hour before the service at the funeral home.

David M. Marple
David M. Marple, 74, of Sutton, WV passed away on January 29, 2023. He was born on September 1, 1948 to parents Howard and Betty Lou Hoard Marple.
David was retired from Hi-Way Paving, Inc. as a construction worker. He served in the ARMY and was in the Vietnam War. David was a Christian by faith, a charter member of Moose Lodge #825 and a member of the Flatwoods Heaters Lion Club. He loved to go hunting, watch sports on TV and spend time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Garry Marple.
He is survived by his wife Sue Marple; son, JD Marple (Gena); daughter, Kelly Morrison (Scott); sisters, Karen Metz and Debbie Keaton; grandchildren, Reagan (Tanner), Rory, Grady, Zac and Kylie.
Graveside service were held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters, WV with Pastor Ryan Skidmore officiating the service.

Charles Clinton Marks
Charles Clinton Marks, has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior, on January 28, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his father, C. Wesley Marks and mother, Nancy Marks; and sisters, Zara Marks and Debra Seese.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nora Marks; daughters, Crystal Marks and Ashley Sabatino (Tristan); grandsons Clinton, Adein, Izaya and Tristan Jr., beloved pets, Lexi and Bella, sisters, Ronda Metz (Kenny) and Anna Marks-Young (Mike); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Clinton had a great gift of cheering up his loved ones, with his own unique wit. He loved the outdoors. You could find him most days sitting outside, working in the yard, or working on a vehicle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, exploring on his four wheeler and the freedom of riding his motorcycle. Most of all he loved being surrounded by his family and friends.
Clinton will be missed by all who felt the protection he provided by the love he so freely gave.
Services were held on Thursday February 2, 2023 at Adams Mason Funeral Home.
Graveside service was held 1 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2023, in his hometown of Elmira WV at Elmira Cemetery with Pastor Lester Tanner officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family for final expenses.

Fred Romie Jenkins
Fred Romie Jenkins, 73, of Sutton, WV and formerly of Sylvester, WV went to his heavenly home following a long illness on January 29, 2023.
He was the son of the late John Thomas Jenkins and Nola Marie Broom Jenkins.
Romie grew up in southern, WV and Sparta, TN and attended Sherman High School. He was a proud U.M.W.A retired coal miner, member of the I.O.O.f, Christian by faith and a member of the Baptist Church. Before he became sick, he loved to restore old cars. His favorite was a 1965 Cadillac he restored for his father in law, Moe. Romie enjoyed the beach and going camping with all his family. One of the things he looked forward to was sitting by the campfire with everyone telling stories and talking about the good times they shared and watching Paul and John make hobo pies. He loved riding his Harley motorcycles and mowing his yard. He always managed every summer to cut down some of the beautiful flowers and plants belonging to his wife, Mary Ann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister in law, Beverly Massey and brother in law; Paul Landy whom he thought of as a son.
Romie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jenkins, twin brother, Ronnie Jenkins, Fosterville, WV; several nieces and nephews and his fur babies.
There will be no service at this time. Romie will be cremated and buried at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV.

Kathleen “Kathy” McCumbers
Kathleen “Kathy” McCumbers, 75, of Rosedale, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, from a short illness at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Cleveland, OH on August 17, 1947, to the late Stanley Kowalski and Elizabeth Kekelis Kowalski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny McCumbers; son, Jason McCumbers; infant daughter, Dawn McCumbers; brother, Kenneth Kowalski; sister, Paula Kowalski Newsome, and close friend, Mildred Speed.
Kathy grew up in Cleveland, OH and attended John Adams High School. While in Cleveland she worked several jobs and married her husband, Danny. They moved to West Virginia to raise their family in 1973. When she first moved to WV she was a homemaker; however, she decided she wanted to attend college and she graduated from Glenville State on May 9, 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. After obtaining her degree, she became employed by the Job Corp in Charleston, WV and worked as a full-time substitute teacher. Kathy was the last surviving member of her Polish and Czechoslovakian family. She was a member of Rosedale United Methodist Church and the Burden Bear Hospice Group. Kathy enjoyed needlepoint, reading Amish novels, and watching Hallmark movies. She was a cherished member of the Rosedale community, in which she loved. She helped all with a true servant heart and blessed each person she encountered.
She will be forever remembered by her daughters, Dannielle Lilly (David), and Nicole Cottrell (Richard); grandchildren, Zack Lilly (Maddison), Brennan Newsome, Chelsie McCumbers, Shane Noch, Gabby Cottrell, Kira Cottrell, Ethan Cottrell, Lewis Cottrell, Aubrie Cottrell, Selina Shearer, Seandae Schoolcraft, and Leah McCumbers. Kathy was also survived by great grandchildren, Alice Lilly, Maddison Monville, Christopher Sudnik, Sonny Sudnik, Eric Schoolcraft, Andrew Schoolcraft; surrogate daughters, Lisa Jones and Sandra Doyle; and special people in her life, Judy Cottrill, Susan Bennett, Linda McCumbers, and Phillip Matthews.
Funeral service was 1 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Rosedale United Methodist Church with Pastor Richie Propst officiating. Interment followed in the Mill Fork Cemetery, Rosedale.
Visitation was two hours prior to the service at the church.

Ramona Lee Ratliff Burdette
Ramona Lee Ratliff Burdette, 83 of Sutton, passed away peacefully in her sleep February 1, 2023.
She was born May 25, 1939 the eldest daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Miller and Evalene Luzader Miller of Glenville. She was preceded in death by her beloved younger sister of three year, Orelene Butcher Demastus on January 9, 2013.
Ramona was married on June 20, 1955 to the late Lewis Franklin Ratliff of Burnsville. They had three children who survive, Kathy Lynn Hewitt (David) of Eden, NC, Sandra Kay Rose (William) of Coxs Mills, WV, and Danny Lewis Ratliff of Texas.
Cherishing her memory are two grandsons, Joey Anderson Rush of Glenville and William Shane Rose of Coxs Mill; two step-grandsons, Jason Paul Hewitt (Ashley) of Redsville, NC, and Brian Robert Hewitt (Tina) of Greensboro, NC; one great-granddaughter, Macy Annette Rush of Glenville; and three step-great-granddaughters, Hannah Hewitt, Katelyn Hewitt, and Emily Poindextor of NC.
Following Lewis’ death in 1991, Ramona married William (Buck) Burdette of Marlinton in April 1997 who survives. With her marriage to Buck she inherited five step-children, Bill, Danny, Lisa, Pete, and KaSandra.
Ramona has been a member of the Sutton congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 60 years. It was her greatest privilege to talk to people in her territory about the truths in God’s Word.
Ramona was a homemaker and loved for friends and family to visit. She was always young at heart and loved reading, coloring, jigsaw puzzles, country and bluegrass music, as well as westerns and black and white movies. She also loved vacations to Holden Beach with her family.
Ramona dearly loved her family and friends and brought love, joy, and laughter to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have shared their lives with the kind and lovely lady she was.
There will be a memorial service for Ramona at the Sutton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Don Lilly officiating on Saturday, February 18 at 2:00 pm.

Grant Shaw, Jr.
Grant Shaw, Jr., 90, of Sutton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at home.
He was born in Sutton, WV on April 14, 1932 to the late Grant William Shaw, Sr. and Viola Blanch Linger Shaw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Jackie Bruce Shaw and Jeffrey Wayne Shaw; brothers, David Duane Shaw, Jerry C. Shaw, and John W. Shaw; sisters, Edna Shaw and Patricia Payne.
Grant was a Christian by faith who attended church regularly and witnessed to everyone, everywhere, all the time. He was caregiver to his spouse. He was a U.S Army Veteran that served during the Korean War. During his lifetime, he was a mechanic in the automobile industry. He enjoyed watching Westerns on the television. Grant was an avid outdoorsman and he also enjoyed tinkering.
He will be forever remembered by his wife, Phyllis Spaur Shaw; sons, William Anthony “Tony” Shaw (Peggy E.) of Delaware and Michael “Mike” Shaw (Peggy S.) of Summersville; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Edgar Shaw of Sutton; brother, Russell Shaw (Phoebe) of Sutton; sisters, Virginia Mae Johnson of Sutton, Emogene Payne of Sutton, Elizabeth Utt of Sutton; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 12 Noon Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV with Reverend Russell Shaw officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at Barnett Cemetery, Bug Ridge, Sutton.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Cory Tyler Garvin-Ward
Cory Tyler Garvin-Ward, 31 of Birch River, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. Cory was born December 26, 1991, in Summersville and was the son of Terry Ward and Tamra Garvin (Dali) Yahyaoui. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Ward.
Cory was a kind hearted person; he enjoyed nature, fishing, being a jokester, but more than anything, he loved his kids.
In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his children; Kane Michael Ward, Ryder James Ward and Freya Jo Anne Ward; brothers, Zachary Garvin-Ward and Parker Garvin Ward; his Granny Maxine Garvin and Papaw Garry Garvin; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog Cowlee.
Friends joined the family for visitation Noon- 1 PM, Monday, February 6, 2023 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen. The funeral procession left the funeral home at 1:15 PM and a graveside service at Birch River Cemetery with Pastor Linn Schiefer officiating will be conducted at 2:00 PM.
