Hamrick, McEvers, Neal, Hudson Enter Pleas; Wyant Charges Dropped

The Honorable Richard A. Facemire Chief Circuit Judge recently completed several court orders in the Braxton County Circuit Court. The state was represented by Braxton County Prosecuting Attorney Jasmine R. H. Morton. Jacob Foster and Tyler Morlan with the Braxton County Probation Office were also present for some of the proceedings.
Jeremy Wayne Hudson appeared in court with his attorney Jonathan Fittro for a plea hearing. On the felony charge of grand larceny, Hudson entered a guilty plea. The state, as their part of the plea bargain agreement, agreed to dismiss the remaining charges in the indictment and stay silent at the sentencing hearing. Judge Facemire accepted the plea agreement. Hudson’s sentencing hearing is also set for April 10.
On January 19, Matthew Ben Hamrick appeared before Judge Facemire with his attorney Jonathan Fittro for a plea hearing. Hamrick entered a guilty plea to the felony offense of burglary as part of the plea agreement. The state agreed to stay silent at sentencing and dismiss remaining charges pending. After accepting the plea agreement, the court set the sentencing hearing for April 10.
On January 9, Leonard Edward Wyant and his attorney Kevin Hughart came before the Circuit Judge. The state did not present the two counts of driving revoked-3rd offense to the grand jury within the three terms allowed. The state no longer wishes to pursue the charges and moved to have the case dismissed. The court ordered the charges dismissed.
On January 5, Britney Marion McEvers and her attorney Andrew Katz appeared before the court. Both parties had reached a plea agreement. The defendant entered a guilty plea to the felony charges of conspiracy, possession of meth with intent to deliver, and possession of suboxone with intent to deliver. The state agreed to dismiss the remaining charges in the indictment and stay silent at the sentencing hearing.
Michael Edward Neal appeared before Judge Facemire for a plea hearing. He was represented by Sutton Attorney Bernard Mauser. A plea agreement had been reached between the state and the defendant. Neal entered a guilty plea to the felony charge of grand larceny. The state agreed to dismiss remaining charges and to stand silent at sentencing.
Sentencing has been set for February 21 after the court accepted the plea agreements.
