Darrell Ray Woods
Darrell Ray Woods, 79 of Bolair passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his home.
He was born June 11, 1943 in Cleveland to the late Roy and Delphia Bleigh Woods and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. Darrell worked for Jim C. Hamer Lumber Company for 19 ½ years and loved to work on guns.
On August 6, 1962 he married the love of his life, Rosalee Anderson. They cherished 60 years together and raised three sons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David Woods; brother Orvil Woods; and great-granddaughter Anastasia Hamrick.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Rosalee; sons Terry (Glenda) Woods and Robert (Susan) Woods; two granddaughters Tera (Scott) Woods and Reva Woods; grandson Timothy Woods; great-granddaughter Lily Bright; great-grandsons Aiden Hamrick, Dawson Woods, and Hunter Woods; sister Jean Bender; sister-in-law Anetha Woods; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services to celebrate Darrell’s life were held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor Doug Martin officiating. Interment followed in Woods Family Farm Cemetery, Webster Springs. Friends joined the family for visitation one hour prior to service time at the Funeral Home.

Everett E. Nicholas
Everett E. Nicholas, 75 of Dunbar, formerly of Hacker Valley, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 30, 1947 in Camden on Gauley to the late Everett and Lora Hammons Nicholas and was the last surviving member of his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Willia Dean Addington Nicholas; daughter Tamara Miller; brothers William S. and Lloyd Lee Nicholas; and sisters Gladys “Maxine” Faulkner and Susan Mace.
He is survived by his sons, Brian, Chris and Kevin Nicholas; grandchildren Brandon Nicholas, Hannah Miller, and Alyssa Miller; several great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
In keeping with Everett’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

Isaac W. “Ike” Hosey
Isaac W. “Ike” Hosey, 74 of Webster Springs passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at his home.
He was born February 22, 1948 in Sutton to the late Ralph “Boyd” and Lois I. Peters Hosey and was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving in Vietnam.
Ike was a coal miner and truck driver who enjoyed playing cards, gardening, landscaping, and feeding the birds around his home. He loved his pets and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Regina “Jeannie” Riffle Hosey; grandson Eric Chase Davis; brothers Luther, Albert, and Tommy Hosey; and sisters Margaret Gaye Egger, Kathleen Eubank, Geraldine Belknap, and Shirley Kuhn.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lee Hosey, Jennifer (Wayne) Jordan, and Lorra (Boone) Hamrick; grandchildren Jakob Payne, Leah Hamrick, Bryana Hughart, and Isaac Hosey; brothers Harold and Ralph Hosey; sisters Ruth Bates and Rebecca Bautista; special nephew Buck Hosey; and many extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services to celebrate Ike’s life was held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Kenny Pritt officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in Big Run Cemetery, Diana. Friends joined the family for visitation two hours prior to service time at the Funeral Home.

Betty Jo Cumberledge
Betty Jo Cumberledge, 55 of Fairmont passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born December 14, 1966 in Nicholas County and was the daughter of the late Wilson Hamrick and Mable Fisher Hamrick who survives of Wallace. Also preceded her in death are her siblings, Loretta, Harley and David.
Betty was a home health care working for West Virginia Choice until recently when her health declined. She attended Mountain of Faith Church in Joetown; she enjoyed working in her flower gardens, enjoyed traveling but most of all loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
In addition to her mother Betty is survived by her husband Charles Cumberledge; children, Heather Harris, Paul (Celeena) Cumberledge and Sandra Cumberledge; ten grandchildren; siblings; Darrell Hamrick ,Cathy Jarvis, Delbert Hamrick, Roger Hamrick, Rosemary Hamrick, Phyllis Payton ,Donna Jones and Mike Hamrick; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Friends joined the family for visitation 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Upper Room Church 320 S 24th Street in Clarksburg. Additional visitation was 12 Noon-2 PM on Wednesday at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Funeral service followed the visitation at 2:00 PM with her brother, Pastor Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial followed at Ware Cemetery, Hacker Valley.

Paul Lewis Frame
Paul Lewis Frame passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022, at the age of 88 in his childhood home in Strange Creek, WV.
Paul was born to Lewis and Dora Frame. He attended school at Butcher Elementary and high school at Summersville. Paul worked at the mines in Widen, WV, where he met his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Jean Frame, who worked at the company store. Paul and Jean welcomed one daughter together.
They moved to Cleveland where Paul began working at the steel mill and flower shop. He then spent the next 30 years at GM, where he retired. After retirement, Paul and Jean moved back to his home place. He was exceptionally active in his retirement in community activities and philanthropic endeavors.
Interested in local news, Paul was a previous owner of the Braxton Democrat newspaper. He actively volunteered at the outreach center in Gassaway. He was an Assistant Pastor for Peoples Community Church for several years and instrumental in the construction of the initial church building. His generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand was known by everyone that he met.
Annually, Paul was excited to go to the hunting camp in Gilmer County. As a pastime, he enjoyed building and retrofitting new campers each year in preparation.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lewis and Dora Frame; wife, Phyllis; brothers, French, Junior, Bill, Charles, and Richard; sisters, Dorothy, Rosalie, Velmer, Martha, Arlie, and Paula.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Diana Sparks (Joe); granddaughter, Amie; great grandchildren, Katlin (Geoff), and Zach (Danny) who he loved very much. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and community.
His graveside service was held 11 A.M. Thursday, December 1st, 2022, at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Strange Creek with Pastor Freddie Schoolcraft officiating.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Peoples Community Church Building Fund, 2809 Flatfork Road, Duck, WV 25063.

Lucille Virginia Boone
Lucille Virginia Boone, 87, of Wilsie, WV went home to her savior Thursday, December 1, 2022.
She was born July 31, 1935 to the late Art and Lena Edwards and step mother, Mary of Clarksburg, WV.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; daughter, Becky Duckworth; sister, Isabella McKenzie; and brother, Claude Edwards.
Lucille retired from B.F. Goodrich and was a member of Upper Sleith Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Ralph (Patty) Boone, Bobby (Cynthia) Boone, Tammy (David) Petry and Susan (Michael) Mick, all of Wilsie; sister, Aretta Knoll of Navarre, Ohio; stepsister, Kathy Walsh of Fairmont; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Lucille’s funeral was 2 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Reverend Johnny Conrad and Pastor Jimmy Adkins officiating. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
Her visitation was two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Gary Lee Henline
Gary Lee Henline, 60, of Webster Springs passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 7, 1962 in Webster Springs, he was the son of the late Riley Cletis and Lena (Adamy) Henline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Henline Slussar.
Gary was the best mechanic around and enjoyed restoring old vehicles. He would always help those in need, never saying no and working on cars well after his health began to decline. He also enjoyed racing cars and won several trophies at the Beckley Motor Speedway. He loved his family and pets: Scrappy, Spanky, and his baby girl, Dinky; and enjoyed spending time with them.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and soulmate, Patricia (Silman) Henline; daughter, Cari (husband, Logan) Durham of Cowen; son, Kirtis Henline of Webster Springs; step-son, Robert (wife, Arlena) Veith of Webster Springs; grandchildren, Robert Duaine Veith III, Nathaniel Veith, Chad Given, Avery Durham, and James Cameron Durham; sisters: Mary (husband, Richard) Bennett of Webster Springs, and Alice (husband, Jim) Varner of OH; brothers: Sanford (wife, Elsie) Henline of Richwood, and Junior (wife, Sandra) Henline of Summersville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Services to celebrate Gary’s life will be held 2pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor Doy Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Point Mountain Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation at the funeral home from 12pm-2pm on Monday.

Rebecca Margaret White
Rebecca Margaret White, 58, of Parkersburg, formally of Rupert, WV passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at her daughter’s home.
She was born May 20, 1964 in Sutton, the daughter of the late Anderson “Andy” Prunty and Edith Geraldine Jackson White. She was also preceded in death by several siblings.
Left to cherish her memory was her sons, Jesse James White of Rupert, WV, Joseph Clay Marks of Alderson, WV; daughters, Edith “Mandy” Stone (Nathan) of Parkersburg, Kimberly Dawn Marks of Summersville; brothers, Jack White, Ralph White, John White, Jesse Prunty; sisters, Elma “June” White, Debbie White, Vikki Bowen and Nelda Beauvais; grandchildren, Bryan Stone, Aaron Stone, Isabelle Marks, Mackenzie Marks, Dalton Hoover, Logan Hoover, Ethan Hoover, Aiyana White and Payton Hoke.
Upon her request the body will be cremated.

Randall Joe Cunningham
Randall Joe Cunningham, 74, of Sutton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his residence.
He was born on April 28, 1948 in Sutton, the son of Edith Rose Cunningham and the late Ralph Cunningham.
Joe worked for the U. S. Corp. of Engineers and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Birch River. He was a Army Veteran who fought for his country in the Vietnam War and a proud member of American Legion Honor Guard, Post #33, Sutton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Smallwood Cunningham; sons, Randall Joe Cunningham, II (Jenny) of Sutton, Jarrod Thomas of Wooster, OH; mother, Edith Cunningham of Sutton; brothers, John Cunningham of Little Birch, Steve Cunningham of Brunswick, OH; sisters, Rhonda Cunningham of Birch River, Kathy Cunningham of KY; grandchildren, Ryker King, Kora Jean Cunningham and Audrey Renae Cunningham.
A memorial service in his honor will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church, Birch River.

Barbara Sue Boggs) Bell
Barbara Sue (Boggs) Bell of Summit Point, West Virginia went to her Heavenly Reward on Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Mike Bell, sister to Pam Rush of Avon Park, Florida; Rick and Connie (Dempsey) Boggs and Jeremiah Boggs of Craigsville, West Virginia. She was also a special Aunt to Stephanie (Rush) Whyte and Beau Whyte of Horntown, Virginia. As well as her wonderful neighbors Mag Boyd and sons and the late Ed Boyd of Summit Point, West Virginia. Caregiver/Friend Kathy, Neil, Natalie and Nathan Newton of Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death earlier this year by her sister, Tammy Luzader, her mother, Faye Boggs and brothers-in-law, Rick Rush and Rudy Luzader.
Barbara leaves behind her husband, Mike, of forty years and her three fur babies: Sid, Lilly and Dani.
She retired from Reston Anesthesia in Reston, Virginia. She was an avid reader and film enthusiast.
She was our little Chatty Cathy and always had a beautiful smile for everyone.
Service will be held 12 Noon on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Little Glade Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Williams of Little Glade and Evangelist Tommy Blake of St. Mary’s, West Virginia officiating. Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service. Burial will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.
