City National Bank Toy Drive concludes Thursday

The City National Bank’s Toy Drive will continue at their Flatwoods and Sutton locations through Thursday, December 8. The local financial institutions are collecting new unwrapped toys at both locations.

“Please consider opening your heart to help make a child’s Christmas a little brighter,” says one of the organizers.

The toy collection is a partnership between the local financial institution, Braxton Community Coalition and Braxton County Schools. All toys collected will benefit and be distributed to Braxton County children during the holiday season. Monetary donations are also be accepted.

“The generosity in our community is humbling and shows the generous spirit of our small part of the world,” added Lisa Conant, local manager of the City National branches.

There is still time to participate. To date, this year’s event has surpassed the total collected in 2021, the first year of the drive with $5,565 in money and toys. However, more is still needed to meet the increased demand for youth ages 0 to 18 years. The event again this year began with a $1,000 anonymous cash donation from a former resident.
