Gilmer Camden Dennison, Sr.
Gilmer Camden Dennison, Sr., 76, of Little Birch, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Braxton Memorial Hospital, Gassaway.
He was born February 24, 1946 in Little Birch the son of the late William Edwin & Macel Bucklin Dennison. Also preceding him in death was his son, Richard Dennison and two brothers, William “Junior” Edwin Dennison and Kenneth Dennison.
Gilmer was a logger, Army veteran and Christian by faith.
He is survived by his son, Gilmer Camden Dennison, Jr. (Sherry) of Little Birch; sisters, Thelma Myers of Buckhannon, Betty Smith of Apple Grove, WV; grandchildren, Katelynn Mace (Cody), Rachel Dennison, Grant Dennison, Blake Dennison; great grandchildren, Bentley Mace, Layla Mace, Ryder Mace.
Funeral services were held 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton with Rev Linn Schiefer officiating. Burial followed at Williams Cemetery, Little Birch. Friends called 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.

Selva ‘Jean’ Payne
Selva ‘Jean’ Payne, 82, of Norton, Ohio, formerly of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Webster County, W.V., passed away peacefully with her children on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at home.
Born on March, 9, 1940, in Marlinton, she was the daughter of Jack B. Gibson and Margaret S. Shinnaberry and sister of Bill Gibson.
Jean was a loving wife to Russell C. Payne; you would often see them volunteering their time together at Camp Caesar, helping the camp and working with children. She was a Baptist by faith. Jean was involved in many endeavors. She ran a car wash in Cowen, worked as a mail carrier, and a home health care provider, supporting patients within her home. Jean’s greatest passion was loving her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children Donald Mollohan, Susan Underation, Nancy (Mike) Swan, and Salina (Jerome) Greene; stepchildren, David (Margaret) Payne, Kathy (Dale) Huls and Jennifer Wood; brother Bill (Ella) Gibson of Pennsylvania; daughter in law Deloris Mollohan; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; special friends, Dorcas and Beth; and other extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate Jean’s life were held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen. Burial followed in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends joined the family for visitation one hour prior to service time at the Funeral Home.

Marjory Ellen Lough
Marjory Ellen Lough, 87 of Webster Springs passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Webster Nursing & Rehab Center after a brief illness. She was born September 22, 1935 in Webster County to the late James Grant Lough and Elva C. Ware Lough.
Marjory previously worked for Moore Business Forms as a camera operator. She loved to quilt, flower garden, and go to yard sales.
She is survived by her sister Marie (Dana) Brooks of Webster Springs; nieces and nephews Gary (Angie) Brooks of Collierville, TN, Brian (Marcie) Brooks of Dover, NC, J. Richard Bright and Debbie (Darrell) Clutter both of Webster Springs, and Vickie (Homer) Nicley of Oak Hill; great-nieces and nephews James Hamrick, Latisha (Jorden) Walker, Andra (Josh) Hamrick, and Leighann (Todd) Lynch; and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Richard Bright.
Friends joined the family for Graveside Services on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at WV Memorial Gardens.

Patricia Lee Cochran
Patricia Lee Cochran, 77 of Craigsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by those who loved her.
She was born May 12, 1945 in Webster Springs to the late Roland and Gracie Goff McCourt.
Patty previously worked as a clerk at Foodland and Dollar General and was a member of Alderson Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed going out to eat, flower gardening, and driving around to see the deer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ted Sablotny and John Cochran; brother Jesse James McCourt; granddaughter Whitney; and step-grandson Corey Bragg.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, John Sablotny, Sofia Swope, and Sonia Marcum; step-daughters, Leamoint Bragg and Evalea Beckstrom; brother Dale (Linda) McCourt; sister-in-law Katie Dilley; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends to mourn her passing.
Friends joined the family for visitation on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Services to celebrate Patty’s life were held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastors Ed Groves and Sam Luppino officiating. Interment followed in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.

Robert Lee “Bob” Tinney
Robert Lee “Bob” Tinney, 82, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, at his son’s home on the Tinney Family Farm on Bug Ridge Road in Sutton.
He was born September 22, 1940, in Sutton to the late Creed W. Tinney and Gladys May Johnson Tinney.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lou Robinson Tinney.
Bob graduated from high school and headed to the military. He was a U.S. Army Special Forces Veteran of the Vietnam War. He often remembered his Special Forces Creed, “DE OPPRESSO LIBER”, which in Latin means “To free the oppressed”. He shared this motto with his fellow Special Forces throughout history and its meaning became ingrained into his daily life. His servant attitude was also displayed in his civic activities as he was a long-time member with the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department. Bob worked and retired in the coal mining industry as a coal miner and driller operator.
He is survived by his two sons, Shannon Tinney and wife, Wendy, of Fairmont, WV, and Chad Tinney and partner, Lori Phillips, of Sutton; two daughters, Laura Tinney of Maidsville, WV and Lori Toothman and husband, Dean, of Barrackville, WV; six grandchildren; brother, Creed Farrell Tinney of Wadsworth, OH; sister, Janet Carol Cottrill of Elgin, OK; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes he will be cremated and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department, 403 Main Street, Sutton, WV 26601.

Anna Lee Allen
Anna Lee Allen, 91, of Gassaway, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Clay Health Care Center.
She was born on September 13, 1931 to the late Harry Ford and Beatrice Singleton Metheny.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Allen; and her brother, John Ford.
She was a homemaker and a caregiver for others. She loved to go shopping. When she was home, she enjoyed crocheting.
Anna is survived by her children, Earle Ford Allen of Grafton, James Harold Allen of Frametown, Judith Ann Hall of Duck, John Harry Allen of Gassaway, and Randy B. Allen of Gassaway; six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service was 1 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Reverend Rich Demastus officiating. Burial followed in the Reip Cemetery, Frametown.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
