Lions Club Peace Poster Contest winner announced

The Gassaway Lions Club sponsored a contest for the Braxton County Middle School art students. The theme was “Lead with Compassion”. According to Club President Randy Foster, “It encourages young people ages 11-13 to think about peace, creatively expressing what it means to them and share their unique visions with the world.”

The winner of the contest received a $50 award and the opportunity to move to up to state district competition. All local entrants received a participation award.

This year’s local winner was John Hamrick of Gassaway.
