The Weston District of the Division of Highways reminds motorist that Braxton County, Route 2 (Copen Road) will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, and anticipated through Friday, Sept. 30, 2022. The affected area is 11 miles west of the intersection of WV 5 (Gem Road). The work is necessary to perform slip repair.
Motorists should plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute or choose an alternate route, if possible. Local traffic may travel WV 5 from Burnsville towards Sand Fork, then South on County Route 44 and County Route 2 to Copen.
Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could extend the completion date.
