BCS mechanic narrowly misses 1st Place in State Competition

Braxton County’s Kevin Brown captured a second place in the West Virginia Association of School Transportation ‘s Tech Inspect held July 17-18 at Canaan Valley Resort, musing first place by just two points.,

Kevin received 2nd place in the School Bus Technician section of the WV Tech/Inspect competition. He missed first place by only two points. This was the Braxton County Schools bus mechanic’s first experience in the contest which included a written test and a hands-on component. The hands-on stations included air brakes, anti-lock brake controls, and electrical.

The West Virginia Tech/Inspect is an annual competition. This year the competition was held in Canaan Valley Conference Center on July 17 and 18. The winners were announced at an award dinner in their honor on Wednesday, July 20, as part of the 78th Annual WVAPT Conference sponsored by the West Virginia Department of Education and executive committee of WVAPT.
