Wilma Jean Brady
Wilma Jean Brady, 60, of Duck, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, at her residence.
She was born July 18, 1961 in Sutton, the daughter of the late James Edmund & Dorothy Mae Dancy Brady. She was also preceded in death by brothers, William Jay Brady, Bradley Allen Brady, Alva G. Brady; sister, Bonnie Faye Brady.
Wilma is survived by her son, Joshua B Jeffrey of Nebo, WV; daughter, Brandi S Litton of Kanawha City, WV; brothers, James Ray Brady of Nebo, WV, Ronnie Dale Brady of Duck; sisters, Barbara E Brady of Hurricane, WV, Sharon L Brady Broyles of Beckley, WV, Melissa A Brooks of Sugar Grove,VA; grandchildren, Angel Grace of Charleston, WV, Hannah MacKenzie Litton and Dakota Shawn Litton both of Duck, Caleb Blain Jefferies of Nebo, WV.
Upon her request, the body will be cremated. A family memorial service to honor her memory and spread her ashes is being planned.

Thomas Junior Shaw
Thomas Junior Shaw, 39, passed away on June 6, 2022. He was born on July 22, 1982 to parents Monty Shaw and Jean Smith Cogar who preceded him in death.
Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother David Shaw.
Thomas enjoyed spending time with family, ATV riding and he loved animals.
He is survived by his step father of 35 years: Craig Cogar, step sister: Dorothy Jarvis (Rick), nieces and nephews: Sabryna Moats, Levi Jarvis, Lauryn Jarvis, Blayne Jarvis, Jase Jarvis and Avaya Jarvis; uncles: Pliant Smith, Theodore Smith and Roger Shaw; aunts: Betty Jane Shaw, Dolly Marks, Faye Richardson, Barbara Green, Lena Dennison, Nancy Loper, Helen Smith and Betty Clifton.
A graveside service was held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Barker Ridge Cemetery, Centralia, WV.

Everett Lee “Zeb” Sharp
Everett Lee “Zeb” Sharp, 79, of Bolair, passed away after a sudden illness on June 12, 2022 at Webster Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born in Webster Springs on May 24, 1943, the son of Lee Roy Sharp and June Hamrick Sharp.
Zeb grew up in Webster County and spent his working life in Delta, PA, working for Whiteford Packing Co. When Whiteford closed, he ran a farm for several years.
He returned to Webster County in 2000. He loved to cut firewood, work on lawnmowers, hunt and ride his side by side. He lived a simple life and could fix anything with a pair of pliers and some tie wire.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Peggy Reynolds of PA, Sandra Lee “Sam” Granruth of Welch, WV and Sandra Cogar Young of Bolair, WV; his two brothers, Charles Sharp of WV and Edgar Sharp of MD; his two sisters, Edna Larmore of Bolair, WV and Eloise Sharp of Washington; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
His house was always open to everyone. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Reynolds; his long-time companion, Betty Reynolds; brother, Eugene Sharp; grandsons Jeremiah Reynolds and Jeffrey Cole Young; and son-in-law Jeffrey A. Young.
A graveside service was held on June 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5042 Delta Road, Airville, Pennsylvania and he was buried alongside his beloved, Betty.

Jerrold K. Widener
Jerrold K. Widener, 80, of Hacker Valley, passed away on June 16, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. Born September 2, 1941 in Braxton County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Hilda Fowler Widener.
He was meticulous in all of his affairs, always having things in order. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. To him, family was everything.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Dee and Idena Widener; brother, Donald Widener, grandsons, Kirby Uhl and Zachary Raber; and great-grandson Caiden Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of just shy of 58 years, Mary Sue Whitney Widener; his five loving children, Debora Laws, John Widener, Marcelle (Henry) Raber, Mark (Rebecca) Widener, and Jerrold E. Widener; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nate) Brady, Erica (James) Anderson, Cody Helms, Sara (Justin) Raber, Joshua Raber, Matthew (Estrella) Raber, Daniel Reidenbach, Seth Widener, Benjamin Widener, Rachel Widener, Lilyanna Widener, Luke Widener, Ethan Widener, Jacob Widener, Liam Widener, and Isabella Widener; great-grandchildren, Jesse (Hanna) Brady, Justus (Caitline) Brady, Lewis Brady, Lucas Brady, James Anderson,, Leland Anderson, Abigail Anderson, and Piper Helms; great-great-grandchildren Mackenzie Brady and Ryan Brady; and many other extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private celebration of life services will be held at a later date.

Harper, Sr.
Rev. Bobbie Harper, Sr., 86, of Little Birch, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 17, 1936 in Sutton, WV the son of the late, Romie Harper & Virgie Long Harper Matheny. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife, Betty Jean Lewis Harper; brothers, Harold Harper, Clyde Harper, Homer Harper, Junior Harper Billie Harper; sister, Thelma Harper.
Bobbie was a retired coal miner, member of the UMWA and a member of Wayside Community Church, Sutton. The thing he loved the most was the Lord. He was a minister for many years and touched many people’s lives because of his love of the Lord.
He is survived by his sons, Rev. Dale Harper (Cheryl), Timothy Harper (Carrie) both of Little Birch ; daughter, Darlene Rose (Carroll) of Little Birch; grandchildren, Tawnya, Billy, Heather, April, Tiffany, Grace, Amira; great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Charity, Dylan, Delaney, Duncan, Addison, Ryeland, Elliot, Paisley, Adalynn and Maleigha.
Funeral were held 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Little Birch Community Church, Little Birch with Rev. Tom Harper officiating. Burial followed at Little Birch Community Cemetery, Little Birch beside his beloved Betty. Friends called noon till time of service at the church.

Patricia “Patsy” Ann Criss White
Patricia “Patsy” Ann Criss White, 66, of Heaters, WV passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at her residence after a long battle with COPD.
She was born January 23, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Doy and Deeoma Conrad Criss.
Because of her illness she was limited on physical activities but enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In her life she held several jobs, but her last job was as a laboratory technician.
She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Otis “George” White; daughters, Tina Smarr and husband, Ian, of Sutton, Brandy Dellinger and husband, Shane, of Frametown and Georgia Carder and husband, Rick, of Glenville; seven grandchildren, Seth Shaver, Shiann Shaver, Cherokee Shaver, Destiny Kinder, Mason Dellinger, Skylar Carder, and Emily Carder; and three great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Criss, Jacob Criss, and Danny Criss; sisters, Sandra Damron and Brenda Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.
She will be missed.
Patsy’s funeral service will be 2 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway. Interment will follow in Keener Cemetery, Little Birch.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Gary Wayne Loyd
Gary Wayne Loyd, 55, of Flatwoods passed away at his home on Friday, June 24, 2022.
He was born on October 10, 1966 in Braxton County to the late Mary Ruth Loyd.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his aunt, Sarah Ann Loyd; and his grandparents, William Cecil and Susan Loyd.
Gary was an outdoorsmans. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a dog breeder, and owned and operated Salt Lick Plott Kennels in Flatwoods. He also worked as a manager for a company that power washed. Spending time with his family and friends was one of his favorite pasttimes.
He leaves behind his companion of 15 years, Alma Teter; sister, Martha Sue Pugh and husband, Delmer, of Ft. Ashby, WV; nephew, Delmer Pugh II; step daughter, Ashley Brown; step grandchildren, Ariana Brown, Brooklyn Mollohan, Aiden Mollohan, and Hunter Mollohan.
Gary’s visitation was 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday, June 27, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
His funeral will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 28th at the funeral home with Reverend Delmas Singleton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters.

Melvin W. Cochran “Papaw”
Melvin W. Cochran “Papaw”, 87 of Webster Springs peacefully entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Webster County Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 9, 1934 down Elk River in Howell Run Hollow to the late Leslie William Cochran and Vergie Clutter Cochran. Melvin went to work, at the age of 16, in the coal mines for Bert Clutter. Melvin, along with Bill and Rab Cool, started Cool Motors of Webster Springs in 1964. He then, along with his son Max, went on to become owner of Cool Motors.
Melvin was a member of Emmanuel Assembly of God; liked to hunt, fish, go camping, and ride around.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Waldo and Bobby Cochran and two sisters, Jean Harrison and June Powell.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife of close to 55 years, B. Caroline Gillespie Cochran; son Max (wife Sandra) Cochran of Webster Springs; four grandchildren, Eddie Cochran, Max (wife Christina) Cochran, Jr., Matthew (wife Vicky) Cochran, and Jessica Cochran; along with four great-grandchildren, Desirae, Matthew Jr., Grace, and Lauren; a great-great-granddaughter, Elena; brothers and sisters, Bonnie (Eddie) Garvin of Parkersburg, Juanita (Bob) Chaney of Buckhannon, Terry (Cheryl) Cochran of Elderton, PA, and Tommy (Judy) Cochran of Buckhannon; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life Services was held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Cowger officiating and Eulogy given by Jack Alsop. Friends joined the family for visitation two hours prior to service time.
Friends and family joined the family for Graveside Services at 3:00 PM at Big Run Cemetery, Diana.
