Richard Lee Kyle
Richard Lee Kyle, 81 of Baltimore, MD passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1941 in Webster Springs to the late Theodore and Virginia Bennett Kyle.
Richard retired from Bethlehem Steel after over 40 years of service as an electrician. He enjoyed deer hunting but most of all just coming back to spend time at the camp in Bergoo with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Edward Dale Kyle.
Richard is survived by his wife Loretta Coakley Kyle; sons, Donnie (Lisa) Kyle and Andy Kyle; grandchildren, Kevin, Josh, Matt, and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Rilee and Ryker; and several extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services to celebrate Richard’s life were held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Interment followed in Point Mountain Cemetery, Webster Springs.
Friends joined the family for visitation one hour prior to service time at the Funeral Home.

Audrey Irene Cunningham
Audrey Irene Cunningham, 71, of Sutton, WV, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 8, 2022.
She was born on September 11, 1950 in McDunn, West Virginia to the late Ocie and Dale Holcomb.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Cunningham; sisters, Anna Mae Holcomb, Charolette Fern Tonkin and Donna Newham and also a brother, Walter Holcomb.
She was a graduate of Cowen High School and married Roy Junior Cunningham in 1968. She and Roy made Little Birch their home shortly after and raised their three children there. Irene attended Little Birch Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, working out in the garden with Roy, cooking and feeding her family; most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Roy Cunningham, sons, Randal (Adrienne) Cunningham and Raymond Cunningham. She was “Granny Irene” to 4 grandchildren, Tyler Cunningham, Meghin Cunningham, Kye Varney, and Jace Cunningham. Also surviving are a sister, Rosie Lee of Napier and a brother, Jimmy Holcomb of Minnesota.
Graveside service was 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Braxton Memorial Gardens, Sutton with Pastor Terry Cunningham officiating.

Margaret Ann “Marge” Cooper
Margaret Ann “Marge” Cooper, 83 of Webster Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at her home. She was born August 24, 1938 to the late Paul and Vivian Louise Ward Carson. Marge loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Cooper; son Paul “Big Ed” Cooper; brothers Kenneth, Jimmie, and Jackie Carson; and sisters Nellie Dorsey and Gladys Wright.
Marge is survived by her sister Nancy Anderson; sister-in-law Faith Carson of Winifrede, WV; grandchildren Kurtis (Lacey) Cooper of Morgantown, Mikel (Beverly) Cooper of Texas, and Kristin Cooper of Mason County; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several other extended friends and family to mourn her passing.
Friends joined the family for Graveside Services on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Marmet Cemetery in Marmet with Pastor Tim Cooper officiating.

Wanda Lynn Bender
Wanda Lynn Bender, 52, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital on June 7, 2022. She was born on March 25, 1970, to parents Jerry D. Bragg, who preceded her in death, and Patty Conrad Bragg of Orlando, WV.
Wanda graduated from Braxton County High School in 1988 and went on to graduate from Glenville State College. She held the position of accounts payable at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital for 29 years.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 26 years: Arnold M. Bender, Jr; her sons: Bryan K. Henline (India) and Andrew J. Bender (Ashley); her beloved grandchildren: Lance S. Henline, Samuel D. Henline, Eleanor R. Henline, and Clayton R. Bender; her mother: Patty S. Bragg; her sisters: Sheila G. Butler and Danielle M. Moore (Robert); and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 PM, with the funeral on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Stockert Funeral Home & Cremation, Flatwoods, WV.

Shannon Ray Markle
Shannon Ray Markle, 62, of Gassaway, WV passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his home after a long and brave battle with cancer. Shannon was a warrior. He fought cancer with profound dignity and courage and was inspirational to aIl.
He was born August 10, 1959, in Webster Springs, to the late, Stanton and Kathleen Markle. ln addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alva and Iva Cogar, John and Olive Markle, and brothers, Larry Joe Markle, Danny Lee Markle, and Tom Dillon.
Shannon was a great man and made a positive impact on many lives as a mentor, boss, and friend. He was a very well respected Administrator of the Central Regional Jail from which he retired after 26 years. Shannon was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Shannon and his brothers made several hunting trips out West. He loved getting in a tree stand or on the lake with his little hunting and fishing ‘buddy’ Riley. He graduated from Webster County High School and was a star athlete lettering in 3 sports and was named Mr. Highlander his senior year.
He will be forever remembered by his wife, Jennifer Markle; sons, Jason, Travis, Riley, and Jamie Markle and daughter, Amber Gardner. Also his brother John Markle (Tammy), sister, Debby Moore (Bryan), and grandchildren, Adam, Issaak, Halie, TJ, Remari and Jax’n Markle, Rayanna Bragg, and Tyler, Caleb, and Ethan Shafer. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV with Rev. Doug Smailes and Rev. Rick Hart officiating. Friends called noon till 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Lena J Martin
Early on June 8, 2O22, Lena left her earthly home bound for her Heavenly abode.
Lena was born to Peter J. Johnson and Lula Elizabeth Wine Johnson on Sept. 16, 1926. She was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Martin, her son, Robert G, Martin, Jr. and grandson, Thomas Martin. Lena was also predeceased by nine brothers and three sisters.

Francie M. Tallman
Francie M. Tallman, 80, of Wilsie, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg.
She was born October 3, 1941 in Gassaway to the late Garland and Ora Wilson Hurst.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul William Tallman; brothers, Garland Hurst, Jr. and Duke Louis Hurst; and sister, Doletta Hamric.
Francie was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. For a time she was the assistant manager of a local retail shoe store. She loved flowers and flowering bushes. She fed and enjoyed watching hummingbirds. She canned and baked. She also made wedding cakes for others. She will be missed.
She will be forever remembered by her son, Paul Douglas Tallman and wife, Jane, of Lewisburg; daughter, Donnetta Huffman and husband, Tom, of Mt. Nebo; granddaughter, Mary-Liz Tallman; brother, Danny Hurst and wife, Donna, of Calvin; sister, Ora Hardway and husband, William Earl “Red” Hardway, Jr., of Vermillion, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Francie’s funeral was 3:30 P.M. Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV with Pastor Jim Criner officiating. Burial followed in the Rosedale Community Cemetery, Rosedale, WV.
Visitation was from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Dianna Kay Duffield
Dianna Kay Chapman, 68, of Duck passed away June 9, 2022 at her home.
She was born March 25, 1954, a daughter of the late Denzel Duffield and Joyce White.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Dale Duffield of Ivydale.
She was a social worker and worked for the Department of Health and Human Resources. She was a Christian and attended Mount Olive Church. She enjoyed fishing with her family, farming, raising cattle, working in her flowerbeds, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Mickey Chapman; sons, Channing (Tashauna) Chapman of Servia, Chance (Emily) Chapman of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Colden, Cooper and Isla; brothers, David (Judy) Duffield of Springfield, OH, Dwayne (Jo Ann) Duffield of Palestine, WV, Gary Duffield of Ivydale, WV; sister, Donna Wilmoth of Ivydale, WV, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 11 A.M. Monday, June 13, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Joseph Truman officiating. Interment was in the Chapman Family Cemetery, Servia, WV.
Visitation was at 6 P.M. Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Herron
Ruth E. Herron, 77, of Sutton passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Braxton Health Care Center, Sutton.
She was born July 25, 1944 in Braxton County to the late Grover and Delphia Eleanor Green Berry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Herron and her brother-in-law, Ralph Smallwood.
Ruth had a beautiful personality and never knew a stranger. She worked for several years at the Braxton Democrat Newspaper in Sutton. She also helped with the Poplar Ridge Elections and volunteered at the Braxton County Senior Center. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sisters, Judith Smallwood of Sutton, Delphia Canterbury of Kentucky, and Vera Blake and husband, Bernard of Salem, WV; several nieces and nephews; good friends, Noretta Helmick and Loretta King and husband, Ronnie; and stepson, Lonnie Richardson.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes she was cremated and there will be no services.

Marmel Janette Brown
Marmel Janette Brown, 80, passed away at her home in Cheswick, PA on April 24, 2022. She was born on July 17, 1941, to parents John W. Brown and Marmel Rader Brown of Burnsville, WV who preceded her in death.
Janette graduated from Burnsville High School in 1959 and was the class Valedictorian. She received a Master’s Degree from WVU in Chemistry. Janette previously held positions as a professor at Albright College in Reading, PA and was a chemist for Gulf Oil Research in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Easter Star.
Janette is survived by her brother: John W. Brown (Loretta) and her beloved nephew and niece: John Wesley Brown III (MiLee), Annette Lynn Brown Cain (Scott); and great nephews and nieces.
A gathering of friends and family to celebrate the life of Janette was held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 10-11am at Stockert Funeral Home & Cremation, Flatwoods, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
