Stonewall Hospital’s first baby of 2022 has Braxton connection

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital has announced their first baby of 2022, Remington Lee Conrad, born at 5:25 AM on January 2. Remington is the second child of Dakota and Brooklyn Harper Conrad of Weston. His big sister is two-year-old Jayden. The baby was delivered by Dr. Brian Bower and nurses Tiffany Berry and Vickie Teter.
Brooklyn said that she was not due until January 14 and when her labor began on Thursday, December 29, she was surprised.
“I was really hoping that I would have our baby on my daughter’s birthday, which is January 8. It is funny that my due date for Remington was January 14, too. He just came a little early,” said Brooklyn.
Maternal grandparents are Sharon and stepfather Rodney Marteney, of Jane Lew, and Father Marty Harper, of Shinnston. Maternal great-grandparents are Carolyn and Fred Jones, of Lost Creek, and Mike Harper, of Tennessee.
Paternal grandparents are Brenda Conrad, of Weston, who is also a Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital employee, and Stephen and Gina Conrad, of Weston. Great grandparents are Iva and Tiny Duely, of Gassaway, and Phyllis Conrad, of Roanoke.
Remington weighed six pounds, eight ounces and was measured at 19 inches long.
As a New Year’s baby, the family received a large supply of diapers and baby gifts from the Hospital.
